At 15 years old, I worked at the Lauderdale Marina fuel docks after school and over the weekends. It was there that I met many other fishermen who invited me to fish on their boats. I am still involved in tournament fishing as my time allows.

We recommend this activity to anyone that want to discover the joy of sea fishing. We had fun especially my son (cause i was sick after 2 hours..). We didn’t catch anything but one of the crew member let my son catch a King Fish under his supervision ;-)
We were lucky to be only 15 - 20 on the boat. I wouldn’t have liked to experience of 50+ people.
My son wants to do it again

It was not what we thought it would be. We thought that there would be water, snacks & lunch, that’s the way it sounded in the info about the trip. They had bottle water but it cost $2.00 each. There were no snacks or anything. Also we paid $600.00 for half of day but we paid $696.00 There was a fee of $96.00 that we did not know about till we got there to pay.

Hi Sharon,

When you showed up to the marina when we collected for the charter we asked if you wanted to add a gratuity and you said yes and we added 20% of the 480 not the 600 thats how it got to 576.00 plus our credit card surcharge there is nothing on our website about food and drinks are provided and we also sent you this. One other point is i tried calling you several times one and two days before the trip and no answer and no call back and i cant believe you would give us a two star overall are catching your grandson a assume fish and you could have said “no i do not want to add a tip.”

When we send a conformation email this is what it says.

Hi Sung

Thank you for the reviews it helps us out a lot we enjoy showing people what we do and teaching them how to fish.

Incompetent captain could not anchor boat. As a result won three was 15 minutes of interrupted fishing during the first 2 hours of the trip. Finally, a fishing location was secured in 40 feet of water which lasted 45 minutes and resulted in few junk fish for the overbooked customers. The number of fisherman exceeded the available comfort space and resulted in constantly tangled lines. I took two children, aged 10 and 8 on trip and they feel that they will never go fishing on a boat in the future. Parking was also inadequate.  A lost memorable time for me and all aboard.

Hi Martin
The Captain was not incompetent the anchor three times was to find fish. the fish are not always in now spot and they always don’t bite in each spot so if we stayed in one spot and the fish didn’t bite everyone would complain and if we move to many times people complain we always try to find fish and are one of the only boats that try to. As far as the parking goes i parked everybody that morning and there was no parking problems and we parked every car with no problems so i don’t know what parking problems you had? the boat holds 60 people and we had 50 people on board so it was not over booked. As far as junk fish you guys caught snappers grunts and trigger fish in the future if you don’t want to be on a boat with lots of people try a private charter with just your group.

Thank you

During 4 hours we did trolling. Almost all that time the captain and his helper were Upstairs doing nothing. Using the mobile and sleeping.
Comming back they finaly changed and did bite fishing. 10 minutes after that we got a very big shark.
So the captain offered me a replica for $ 2.500/3.000. Depending on the weight
I said no, I just whant catch an relise. He said that if I whant a picture inside the Boston I have to pay $ 3.000.
I said no so he cut the leader end let the Sark go away with the hooks inside after two hours fighting.

Hi Gonzalo

I have never heard of any of Our crew members sleeping i would like to know you could have called me or gone to the manger of the office to let us know what happened. I seriously doubt the mate was sleeping during the fishing trip sometimes on the way in after there job is done they will lay down is this what happened? Also we Don’t put our hands in sharks months to get the hooks out that why we use steel hooks so they rust out. The fish you caught people dream about catching a shark so i am very surprised you gave us a one star review? If you would like to discuss this trip please call me.

I booked this boat ride on line at Fishing Booker.com on Wednesday, April 5th for 3 people. The price was stated at $40 per person. Fishing Booker asked for a $30 down payment and the $90 balance was due at the time of the fishing trip.

When we got to the marina to pay the balance, they asked me for $135. To my surprise I said, no I only owe the balance of $90. I pulled up the email that showed my balance due and the guy behind the counter said there are so many online places we go through that they can’t keep them straight.

I said, well this is who I went through and the price was $40 per person, not the $45 that you are trying to charge me and not take into account the $30 I already paid.

We did finally end up paying a balance of $105, so he did acknowledge my $30 deposit, but still charged us $45 not the the original $40 I was quoted.

You guys need to get your act together and not have stuff like this come up.

The captain and crew were great! Unfortunately no fish caught worth keeping. Crew was very helpful with baiting the hooks and fixing tangled lines.

I’m sorry but you answer didn’t give the right informations :

« Im sorry you feel this way but we upgraded you to a sport fishing boat because i told you we didn’t have enough people to go drift fishing because it was windy »
—» First of all, nobody answer to my email the day before about the weather.
—» You were aware that the weather was very bad and you should at least have replied to my e-mail the day before or warn us in the morning about the difficult weather. Since other guests did not come it would have been wise to cancel the exit due to the deplorable weather conditions.

« and you where all upset so we upgraded to to a 6 pack boat that usually cost 180 per person »
—» Nobody where upset.

« you showed up early so you might have waited 1 hour but the boat still left at 8:30 witch was your scheduled time to leave the dock. »
—» We arrived at 8:10. When I said that it took an hour before going to the ocean, it was that after leaving the dock on time, the boat went to fill up with gasoline. We traveled well for over an hour before heading to the ocean.

« If the boat came back a hour early because you guys where sick. »
—» Exactly, the six clients of the boat were all sick because of the impossible conditions of this outing at sea.

« Also we where fishing 5 lines when we where kite fishing so i don’t know where you got the two rods »
—» I repeat that only two fishing rods have been launched at two different times for a total duration of 40 minutes.
—» There was no kite fishing. The people of the boat tried to launch a line in Kite fishing but it did not take more than a few minutes due to the wind and the waves. The Kite was immediately returned to the boat. I’m very surprised you pretended that while you were not on the boat yourself.

« you got a 360.00 trip for 60.00 and want your money back we tried everything to make you happy. Sorry that you fell this way. »
—» We did not pay for a boat ride - in a raging sea - but for a fishing trip. I understand that things like this can happen and when there is a situation like this there is better to reimburse customers than to advance inaccurate things.

The trip was amazing….it was everything you said it would be. Now that we are back in Canada, I can’t immediately supply photos because my son has them all. This trip was on my bucket list since I am older and it was my son’s first trip. We caught 4 King Maceral, a sword fish (catch and release) and 2 Mahi Mahi.
Regardless whether we caught any fish, Captain Steve and Joe were an absolute delight. They knew what they were doing at all times and knew the fishing grounds. Regardless of the celebrity endorsements they are the “go to guys” for an enjoyable experience and it was worth it. I would recommend it period. If any one has a question….my email is [email protected]
