Fishing is Hot!
Fishing is Hot!
Aug 22, 2021 Hollywood
The fishing IS hot. So is the weatherโ€ฆ But the warm temperatures have not slowed the fishing down. The action has been very good with a surprise out of the blueโ€ฆ Blue Marlin that is, but Iโ€™ll get to that in a moment. Just a mile from shore the Bonito (Little Tunny) have been biting well offering us plenty of action. While not great table fare, they fight hard as they are a false Tuna. Often, multiple fish on at the same time. This gets everyone involved and all have a chance to bend the rod. Mixed in with the Bonito are Kingfish and some Blackfin Tuna. Now we are into edible fish. The smaller Kings are good when fresh. The Blackfin Tune is sushi grade so you canโ€™t go wrong. When we say a fresh fish dinner? Itโ€™s doesnโ€™t get any better or fresher than that! Mahi- mahi fishing, further from shore, has been inconsistent. The longer the trip, the better chance of success. The fish we have been catching have been legal to keep so thatโ€™s a bonus. Usually this time of year, lots of throw backs are what weโ€™re catching. Wahoo have been scarce but should be more predominant soon. September/ October are good months for these. Every once in a while you run into something you donโ€™t expect. This is where opportunity meets preparedness, as was the case the other day with Jimmy, Dan and their group of anglers. While searching for Mahi out in the deep blue, a Blue Marlin decided to eat one of the baits. The fight was on! And it shouldnโ€™t have lasted long but did. We prefer catching these magnificent Gamefish on tackle suited for them. The TLD 30 with 30# test is not the rod you want this bite on. And a fight that lasts over 3 hours on that kind of tackle has you sweating at each run he makes. But when all is said and done? The release at the boat makes it all worthwhile. And the traditional swim after catching your first Blue was honored by Dan, his first one. As I said, itโ€™s been hot so the push into the water was welcome. Not so much in Januaryโ€ฆ Hope to see you soon. Capt. Steve Lady Pamela 2 Fishing **hidden content** **hidden content**

LETโ€™S CATCH THE AFTER- CHRISTMAS SAILS!
LETโ€™S CATCH THE AFTER- CHRISTMAS SAILS!
Dec 31, 2019 Hollywood
Weโ€™ve been unwrapping offshore โ€œpresentsโ€ every day aboard the Lady Pamela Sportfishing Fleet since before Christmas and the bite has done nothing but get better as we jump into 2020! Before we get into our December Fishing Report, on behalf of our entire Lady Pamela Sportfishing Family, I would like to wish you and your family a Healthy, Prosperous and Happy New Year! We hope that you can enjoy all of lifeโ€™s blessings in this wonderful time of giving and gathering with family. We would also like to take this opportunity to express our sincere thanks and appreciation to every single one of our incredible clients who fished with us aboard the Lady Pamela Sportfishing Fleet in 2019! You are the โ€œreason for the seasonโ€ all year long and we very much look forward to fishing with you in 2020. While you are visiting family in South Florida or simply escaping the cold weather for a few days, why not spend time with your family experiencing some of the best offshore fishing of the season? SPORTFISHING REPORT: HOLIDAY SAILFISH! Weโ€™ve enjoyed a few cold fronts since November, with more on the way as we come up on January โ€“ for us in South Florida, a โ€œcold frontโ€ is when the mercury dips below 60 degrees โ€“ and they have triggered the winter bite. The Sailfish are in town and tearing up the baits. Our world-famous Sailfishing is what built our offshore winter fishery. Our clients have been putting up big numbers of Sailfish catches and releases as our Fleet focuses almost exclusively on fishing live baits underneath our fishing kites. Kite-fishing is a truly amazing and engaging experience as you get to see the Sailfish AS THEY EAT the bait. Nothing gets the blood pumping like watching a double- or triple-header Sailfish bite up on the surface. We can fish up to three (3) live baits per kite, with at least two (2) kites up at any one time. Weโ€™re fishing between 90 and 250 feet of water. Weโ€™ve also had luck shallower than 90 feet as we watch Sailfish cartwheel in the midst of Ballyhoo schools up on the reef. When there is not enough wind to keep the kites in the air, we can also slow troll live baits such as Ballyhoo and Goggle Eyes as well as troll our specially-crafted mullet strips. CHRISTMAS IN WAHOO-VILLE! No grinches to be found when the Wahoo fishing is this amazing! The recent moon phases caused another winter Wahoo bonanza! One of the fastest fish in the sea, Wahoos can melt drags and break hearts if youโ€™re not ready for them. Fortunately, the Lady Pamela Sportfishing Team is ready, willing and able to tame these shiny, striped torpedoes. The December Wahoos have been crushing our strip baits trolled below the surface on planer along with as Islanders with ballyhoo in both the blue/white and red/black color combinations. Weโ€™ve been finding the Wahoos in between 150 and 350 feet of water. Weโ€™ve also hooked a few Wahoo fishing live bullet Bonitos over the wrecks for Amberjacks and Black Grouper. Few things make an angler weak in the knees like watching a Wahoo empty your spool on one of their patented runs! After a long fight and bringing a Wahoo aboard, youโ€™ll enjoy the fact that you get to invite a tasty fish home for dinner. LATE-SEASON MAHI MAHI Like many of our family members who visit for the holidays, the Mahi Mahi have simply refused to leave! Of course, the Mahi are welcome guests for as long as they care to wallop our baits. The Mahi have been eating nearly every and any bait that we put in front of them, from live kite baits to strip baits and artificials. Join us to get in on this late-season bounty. BIG TARPON INSHORE Inshore Tarpon fishing continues to be strong coming off of the Mullet Run. Weโ€™re putting our clients on Tarpon ranging from 20-120 pounds. Youโ€™ll never forget a battle with these amazing, acrobatic species. Give us a call to set up your customized Inshore Tarpon Trip. DRIFT FISHING REPORT: LOIS ANN IS ON THE BITE The Lois Ann has been guiding our clients to catches of Yellowtail Snappers, Mangrove Snappers, Mutton Snappers as well as Kingfish and Amberjacks โ€“ and sheโ€™s doing it while providing all of the comforts of home! Fort Lauderdale Fishing Drift Fishing aboard the Lois Ann is a great value for the entire family! Come join us for a four-hour trip! GIVE THE GIFT OF FISHING Donโ€™t forget about giving the Gift of Fishing to the angler in your family! Lady Pamela Sportfishing Gift Certificates make for the perfect Christmas Gift, especially for you last-minute shoppers out there! Give us a call and weโ€™ll take care of everything. Just tell us the denomination of the Gift Certificate. Keep in mind that our Gift Certificates can be honored when booking any of the vessels in the Lady Pamela Sportfishing Fleet!

DAYTIME SWORDFISH TRIP
DAYTIME SWORDFISH TRIP
Nov 14, 2019 Hollywood
FISHING REPORT The Lady Pamela Sportfishing Fleet is in the midst of an amazing Fall bite right now with clients catching Mahi Mahi, Wahoo, Kingfish, Bonitos, Barrcuda, Sharks, Snapper, Grouper and even Tarpon! However one offshore species is stealing the spotlight right now: Swordfish! NOW is the time to book your Daytime Swordfish trip to catch these amazing, prehistoric-looking and tasty pelagic monsters! DAYTIME SWORDFISHING! Not too long ago, if you wanted to book a Swordfishing trip, you had to spend all night offshore, fishing 4-6 baits at one time and you were lucky to get a single bite in a night. Recent innovations in tackle and tactics have opened up Daytime Swordfishing to catch Swordfish weighing anywhere from 80 to 500 pounds. As a result, Fort Lauderdale has become one of the worldโ€™s premier Swordfishing destinations. Even though โ€œDaytimingโ€ for Swordfish has exploded in popularity, this type of fishing requires a skilled crew and specially-tailored tackle. Fortunately for our clients, Lady Pamela Sportfishing posseses plenty of BOTH. All of our vessels are equipped with the latest electric reels and terminal tackle to help you bring home one of these amazing creatures. When you come Swordfishing with us at Lady Pamela Sportfishing, weโ€™ll set up in 1,800 to 2,000 feet of water, approximately 20 miles offshore. Weโ€™ll drop down several rigged baits, typically squid or king mackerel, on specially-rigged terminal tackle attached to electric reels. The strike can be very subtle and youโ€™ll need our skilled crew to know when to start reeling up. Then, youโ€™re on! swordfish What follows is an amazing slugfest that ends with a slashing, bill-wiping display on the surface of the water! This is truly something to behold! What follows is a delicate ballet to harpoon the Swordfish and bring it aboard for the trip back to the dock. There are few fish that are as prized for their table value as Swordfish. They are tasty indeed and you would not believe how much meat can be harvested from a single Swordfish โ€“ nothing gets wasted. Check out this video of our latest epic Daytime Swordfishing trip! Call us NOW to book your trip and experience this amazing Swordfish action and check it off of your bucket list! Tight Lines, Captain David

Fall Mahi Mahi Fishing
Fall Mahi Mahi Fishing
Oct 12, 2019 Hollywood
FISHING REPORT The Lady Pamela Sportfishing Fleet is in the midst of an epic Fall bite right now with clients catching hordes of Mahi Mahi along with Kingfish, Bonitos, Barrcuda, Sharks and more Snapper and Grouper! NOW is the time to book your Fall fishing trip now that the bait migrations are in full swing and the fish are biting! MAHI MAHI ACTION The Mahi Mahi are active from 200 feet of water out to 600 feet of water and beyond. Our anglers are catching Mahi Mahi from 10 to 40 pounds on trolled bonito strips and rigged ballyhoo. The smaller โ€œschooliesโ€ mixed in with the bigger Mahi Mahi as these battalions of Mahi are seeking out schools of bullet and ballyhoo that are migrating down the coast. Mahi Mahi are voracious feeders and are in constant search of food sources. Even when we find smaller Mahi, there are still larger specimens mixed in, feeding below โ€“ on sometime feeding ON โ€“ the little Mahis. SMOKE โ€˜EM IF YOU GOT โ€˜EM The Kingfish have also moved in on the bait schools between 70 and 120 feet of water and are pouncing on anything that comes their way. As with the Mahi Mahi, weโ€™re catching โ€œSmokersโ€ from 15 to 35 pounds on trolled mullet strips or bonito strips either on a downrigger or planer to get the baits down in the water column. Theyโ€™re also responding well to large trolled feathers. Barracuda are hanging around in the same neighborhood as the Kingfish: 75 to 200 feet of water and are competing with the Kings for trolled baits. Barracuda are fearsome-looking and are tackle-busters! Our Fall Shark fishing continues to build momentum! We are starting or even ending our trips by targeting big sharks such as Hammerheads, Blacktips and Silky Sharks. Weโ€™ve started to see the annual Fall migration of Sharks down the Florida coast, from north to south. Our anglers are catching big Blacktips and acrobatic โ€œSpinnerโ€ Sharks near the huge pods of mullet that are migrating down the beaches. Give us a call to โ€œget your Shark on.โ€ DRIFT FISHING REPORT: KINGS, SNAPPERS AND GROUPER On the Lois Ann, our daily trips โ€“ 3 each day โ€“ are producing Kingfish, Bonito and a host of Snapper and Grouper. Our nighttime trips also continue to deliver on Grouper and Snapper. Book a trip NOW to get in on this amazing action after the sun goes down. Come on aboard and gain access to some of the hardest-fighting and tastiest fish that swim. Weโ€™re the best fishing value in all of South Florida! Remember all ages and experience levels are always welcome. We have a captain and mate on board to help you at all times. We also have one of the cleanest vessels in the southeastern US and we have a fully-stocked galley to keep you hydrated and well-fed! The Lois Ann is also planning her next relief mission to The Bahamas to help out our friends who continue to be in dire straits in the wake of Hurricane Dorian. Come join us to take part in this Fall action! Do you have a large group that wants to go fishing? No problem. We are the only boat in the area that can take more than 6 people on one single boat, so please give us a call as soon as you know your dates.

One of the fastest fish in the sea, Wahoos can melt drags and break hearts if youโ€™re not ready for them. Fortunately, the Lady Pamela Sportfishing Team is ready, willing and able to tame these shiny, striped bait burglars. The shark fishing continues to be hot despite the chilly conditions, especially the big Hammerhead Sharks that have shown up! Check out this 7+ foot Hammerhead that we caught this week! Hammerheads are known as sluggers and are not afraid to pop up to eat a bait intended for species such as Sailfish, Kingfish or Amberjacks. Our clients love to tell their friends and family how they battled one of the most recognizable and renowned shark species the world over. As for the rest of our shark fishing trips, we continue to put clients on big sharks, with each trip landing at least one shark, with most trips catching several. Caribbean Reef Sharks, Blacktips and Silky Sharks have been active. The best shark baits continue to be either a live Bonito or dead Bonito or Kingfish dropped down in 300 feet of water. Weโ€™ve also been putting our clients on huge Amberjacks with live bait when shark fishing. Amberjacks will certainly test the stamina of both tackle and angler! Check out the Amberjack and big Black Grouper below! Drift Fishing Report: The Lois Ann just returned from her refit and hit the fishing grounds with a vengeance! She has been guiding our clients to catches of Yellowtail Snappers, Mangrove Snappers, Mutton Snappers as well as Kingfish and Amberjacks โ€“ and sheโ€™s doing it in style and comfort! CLIENTS ARE YELLING WAHOO! WITH LP2!
CLIENTS ARE YELLING WAHOO! WITH LP2!
Nov 30, 2018 Hollywood
The Fall weather patterns are starting to take hold down here in South Florida and Lady Pamela Sportfishing continues to take full advantage of the subtle change in seasons! Our entire fleet continues to enjoy great fishing and big smiles from our clients. Thanks to all of clients both new and loyal, our boats are returning with plenty of fish to catchโ€ฆand stories to go with them. The entire LP2 Team wishes to thank each and every client who fished with us aboard the Lady Pamela II Fleet throughout September. We greatly appreciate your business and hope that youโ€™ll come back to join us aboard the renowned Lady Pamela II Fleet. Our early morning trips and evening trips continue to produce good numbers of various species as we avoid the hottest โ€“ and stormiest โ€“ part of the day. The past few weeks have seen a return of massive amounts of seaweed between the beach and 20 miles offshore due to Hurricane Florence. The seaweed patches have been holding solid numbers of Mahi Mahi and a species that loves to eat Mahi Mahi as much as we do: Wahoo. Sportfishing Report: Wahoo! The recent moon phases caused an EXPLOSION of Wahoo catches! One of the fastest fish in the sea, Wahoos can melt drags and break hearts if youโ€™re not ready for them. Fortunately, the LP2 Team is ready, willing and able to tame these shiny, striped bait burglars. The Wahoos have been crushing our baits trolled below the surface on planer as well as our Mahi Mahi baits: Islanders with ballyhoo in both the blue/white and red/black color combinations. Weโ€™ve been finding the Wahoos in the same depths as Mahi Mahi โ€“ we simply pick up the speed a bit on the troll to get the shots. Few things make an angler weak in the knees like watching a Wahoo empty your spool on one of their patented runs! After a long fight and bringing a Wahoo aboard, youโ€™ll enjoy the fact that you get to invite a tasty fish home for dinner.
