My family and I came back to Kona for a repeat fishing charter with Captain Brent.  This was a first time trip for our son.  Before the trip even started, the captain was at the boat and had everything ready to go.  The crew was super knowledgeable and started the instructions for getting our son fitted for the fighting chair.  After a few minutes we were headed out to the fishing grounds.  It took a few minutes to get out and we were hooked up to what would be the first marlin for the day.  The crew worked to clear everything out of the way and the fight was on.  My son was given complete instructions of what to do every step of the way.  Captain Brent and the crew made it look so easy and it was obvious they knew what they were doing because they made short work getting our fish to the boat and safely keeping it there for some pictures.  The Marlin was released and lived to fight another day.  My son was instantly hooked on big game fishing and we will be back next year to fish again.  Five stars for the entire trip.  Wish I could do more than 5.

I have to say, the experience was over the top excellent. From booking to getting off at the end of the trip, it was all top shelf. Captain and crew were friendly courteous and helpful.  That was really appreciated.  The boat, fishing and conversations were great as well.  I learned a lot about fishing for the different species of fish, what to expect and how to use the chair and equipment necessary to fight and catch fish on the boat.
I felt the knowledge they shared while on the boat was enlightening and helpful not only for that day of fishing but to help enjoy the rest of my time on the island. Catching my first ever Marlin was an awesome bonus to the entire day. Thank you so much to caption and crew (Rooster) for a fantastic and memorable experience.

We had a wonderful day fishing with Reel Escape . Crew was awesome and friendly . They put us on a 350 pound Marlin . My brother was in the fighting chair and it’s his first time in Hawaii . That made for a good time . The only downside is when you catch something over 75 pounds you don’t get to keep your catch . I didn’t really know that until we had the fish landed . Myself , I would make a deal with the fishing party to send them home about 20 pounds of smoked fish if clients were willing to pay the shipping cost . Otherwise it was a Awesome day . Thanks for the experience . Money well spent for the memories .

Me and my family have never been on a chart out of Hawai’i until now and so we went with reel escapes and let me tell you they did not disappoint !!!! Brent and rooster are nothing short of a class fisherman they are both extremely knowledgeable and have great hospitality if you want a good time with going after some of the worlds greatest sport fish go with reel escapes !!!! We had the good fortune to be able to fish with Jason and Noah in the sunny calm afternoon. Not only did they entertain us with many fishing stories and fishing knowledge, but they were relentless in their pursuit to find fish. We ended up with 7 Mahi Mahi for an excellent and amazing experience. Thank you to Reef Escapes for the best fishing trip ever! Our family highly recommends booking with them. We will be back for sure!
