Big Halibut Birthday Bite in Sooke

Big Hali for Big Fish Chuck! We spent the afternoon yesterday with our guest celebrating his birthday fishing for halibut. Well the tide finally switched and we got big hits on both our front lines within a minute or two from each other. They didnt stick until commiting to the salmon head, fresh octopus (recently caught) and herring platter we had on our back line another minute after rhe first two. Well this fish peeled a 100ft of line before giving our guest a chance to play it perfectly to the boat..which he did. Well done sir. Porpoises were putting on a show for us all day while we were on anchor comjng within 20 ft of the boat chansing bait on the surface.
