Background: Since I was a kid, I liked fishing. I live in a fishing village of Puerto Morelos, Quintana Roo, Mexico, in which I grew up happy with ropes, boats, hooks, and fishing on the dock every day. When I was 12 years old, I had my first boat to take care of as I now take care of my fishing boats. I started participating in fishing tournaments in the municipality and the state — I won several tournaments, such as "Andres Garcia Lavin" in Puerto Morelos (1st place), "Riviera Maya International Tournament" in Playa del Carmen, "Prof. Augusto R. Sosa Centeno" (1st place), "Copa Capitan Ferrat International" in Cancun (1st place), and "Rodeo de Lanchas Mexicanas" in Cozumel (1st place). I have also passed to the National of Mazatlan and participated in the World Cup.
Techniques: Our fishing style in the area is using J hooks, lures, and colored plastics. We usually throw two rods in the outrigger, one central, one in the downrigger, and one more in the short side. My favorite style is trolling with lures and Ballyhoo.

We booked a full day with El Patrón to get in some trolling and bottom fishing. We were shut out on the early trolling but managed to catch 14 solid “keepers” while bottom fishing. We took the cleaned fish back to our resort and had a fish feast! Awesome day all around and would recommend these guys to anyone seeking an offshore adventure. John from Wisconsin

These guys are above and beyond awesome!! Family trip turned slightly sideways with some sickness of a few. Captain Jaime and Fred went above to help the youngsters feel better by changing our strategy and constantly helping to catch fish and provides tips and assistance. Captain Edgar and first mate Rodrigo got us on a white marlin right out of the gate! Then bonito and barracuda. Barracuda was made into ceviche right on the boat and was delicious. El Patron will make your trip! Second time booking this boat and will do it again for the 3rd time!

This was one of the best trips I’ve been on! We went on a 3/4 day trip, we hooked up with in 30 minutes. We lost a big barracuda and huge mahi. We did land a 100lb sailfish a shark and 6 mahi mahi. I would definitely recommend and I will always book with them when I come back.
