This was our first deep sea trip. We had booked a shark trip in addition to this one. Due to weather we had to cancel the shark trip, but captain Mike got us out longer the following day to insure we had a crack at sharks as well. He put us on big fish straight out of the gate. He and his mate worked hard to keep us catching all day. He got us on a red snapper that is currently #1 on the big cash snapper fishing tournament. Here’s hoping it can hold for 5 more days! For my son’s 13th birthday, he wanted to go fishing in the ocean. Line Check Charters made that happen. Captain Eric was great, allowing my son to do as much of the work as he wanted including baiting hooks and “trying” to cast the heavy poles. We were able to land 5 sharks and a catfish to round out the experience. When back on dry land Captain Eric fileted our Black Tip and gave us a recommendation on where to take it locally to be cooked.  A great time had by all.

We had an incredible experience on the water thanks to Captain Eric. From the moment we set out, he put us right on the fish. His knowledge of the area and ability to find the best spots was impressive, and he’s not just a great guide—he’s a fantastic teacher as well. Captain Eric was great. Right off bat he put us on fish on the jetties. Between my husband and I and our two boys (14&12) Someone was catching at all times. From redfish, trout, sheephead, lady jacks, and croakers - we kept a few for filleting and even had some bait catches. Left there and used our bait fish to try and catch some sharks. Me and the oldest son both caught a shark while the husband and youngest got to snag some rays. Watching my youngest fight a huge ray for almost 30 mins was priceless.... More
