Been a steady and grest start to 2026 with a very consistent blue marlin bite and a good showing of yellowfin and the occasional mahimahi/spearfish as well!! With the year round season Kona has to offer any day could be the most memorable day on the water you'll ever have. A full day trip gives you more time and opportunity to be successful as well as allowing us to spend more time in an area that the conditions look conducive to getting the bite!! Fishing this week has been exceptional!! The tuna bite hasn't been this good in months, the last week has produced a handful of fish over 700lbs for the fleet including a 1039lb blue - yest we went 2 for 4 on blues, a shortbilled spearfish and a 115lb yellowfin!! Last few days we've had junior anglers onboard that all caught their first ono (wahoo) and the bkue marlin bite has been consistent with one a day - hard to beat the glass calm water of Kona!!

Main objective was to find some fresh fish for Ryan S. and his group to eat while they're on island - we put iin a little effort and 15yr old Landon secured dinner landing a nice 28lb ono (wahoo). We switched over the lures and headed offshore with 68yr old April next up on the rod, we marked a nice fish on the fish finder and seconds later the short corner position went for a ride!! Like a seasoned vet our first time angler put the instruction/technique crew.an Wes Parker had given her to work and after a 25min battle we had her 500lb blue boatside!! After releasing the fish we were greeted with a large pod of dolphins in the glass calm cobalt blue waters of the Big Island which was the icing on the cake for the group - back to the harbor in time for brunch with lifeling memories, new friends and zip-locs of filets on ice for the grill!! Kona is incredible..

The time of year where we can spend some time fishing for the finest eating fish Hawaii has arrived!! Each morning we make our way down the coast in the lane where the ono (wahoo) are concentrated and its fairly common to get multiple strikes - after putting some "food-fish" onboard we head offshore to target marlin and ahi!!
