We had a wonderful half-day trip with Capt John, First Mate Ronnie, and Patent Pending Charters. It was our first family charter trip, and our 7-year old was hooting and hollering “this is AWESOME!” as we pulled out into the bay. The crew made sure we were comfortable and did a great job planning our trip around an incoming weather front. Capt John’s patent-pending, self-built lure rigs had us catching bluefish from the word go. We also enjoyed the fresh cooked dinner in the air conditioned cabin, which was a great way to cap off a warm 4th of July.

It started as a fun day for me and my military friends to all get together and go fishing. Crew seemed nice and the day was going good. After we had our lunch at 11 the captain started driving the boat back to the dock so I asked where we were heading because I booked a full day trip that was supposed to end at 2PM, the captain stated he had made a mistake and thought we only booked a half day but at this point he dedicated to returning to dock because he wouldn’t spend the gas money to go back out!  After returning to the doc several hours early and getting our fish I handed the dec hand what I considered a nice tip, he then counted out the cash tip in front of us and demanded we give him more that this amount of tip was not enough for him! Feeling extremely uncomfortable I went into my wallet giving him additional money. The fact the captain only gave us a half day fishing when I booked a full day & the dec hand demanded I give him more money for his trip completely ruined my trip & I would not recommend this money hungry boat to anyone else!

Captain John is an incredible captain! My husband and sons are passionate about fishing and have been eagerly anticipating a father’s day fishing trip. Two other family members joined them as first-time anglers, and they all had an exceptional and unforgettable experience. The lunch that Captain John provided was also thoroughly enjoyed. It was a truly fantastic Father’s day for the dads and their sons. We are extremely grateful to Captain John and are already making plans for our next fishing adventure next month!

Six of us fished for bluefish with Captain John and his First Mate Ronnie. I didn’t think we’d catch anything in the heat of the afternoon, but boy howdy we couldn’t quit catching! We reached our limit and had a ball doing it, just like Captain John said we would. His spinners are magic, and he knows where the fish are. We also had dinner on board and it was spectacular - he beats any restaurant we could have gone to on shore. This was the best charter we have EVER taken, and we’ve all tried a bunch, all over the world. Great company, great gear, beautiful boat, and we plan to come back in the Fall. The only problem is that now we’ve all been spoiled rotten.

Our party of 6 scheduled a 6-hour trip with Captain John from 12 PM to 6 PM on the 4th of July. Capt. John and Phil provided great company and provided plenty of stories and humor to fill in the time between fish bites. We opted for the $25 crab cake lunch and it consisted of seasoned crab with no filler. We were all surprised at the quality since a similar crab cake would run you $40 in a typical seafood restaurant. Moreover, Capt. John’s navigation coupled with Phil’s fishing assistance resulted in us landing numerous fish, causing us to quickly hit our limit of 5 bluefish/person. At one point we lost 7 fish at once (due to our novice abilities in reeling them in) but there were so many bites that it didn’t even matter. Of course, Phil and Capt. John gave us advice after each misstep to guide us towards success. After docking, Capt. John cleaned, fileted, and packaged the fish for us, and they were delicious. We had a great day and we’re looking forward to coming back again!
