This was a surprise for my spouse and one he will never forget. Captain Vega created an experience for my family and friends that has highlighted our day and trip. I see why he is booked solid!!! This was our first experience with Tarpon (not to mention by no means am I a fisher) and he will do everything he can to set you up for success.

His expertise is obvious and I think people who were complaining about not giving instructions were expecting full on fishing lessons 101. To be out gently, I have never caught a fish and by the end of the day, this inland dwelling mother and nurse was holding a whole fish! He will instruct when the time comes and if you do have questions , ASK! He was kind and let us quietly play some music and accommodating to us bringing beverages as well.

I asked my husband where wanted to go for honeymoon and he said anywhere I want as long as we get to go fishing. Booked fishing trip and was best fishing trip I’ve ever been on. Rafael was amazing, great conversation, taught me that fishing for tarpon is much different than any other fishing. I try to follow recommendations as much as possible. We lost a couple in the beginning but I had the amazing experience of catching huge tarpon. It was a work out and he put up a good fight. So grateful for this fishing trip. My husband had a blast and had to help me hold up fish for picture cause he was huge. My husband had the time of his life and also caught some big ones!! We would highly recommend Rafael!!!

Captain Rafael is definitely one of the best Captain in catching tarpons, he helped us caught a few good tarpons, and also taught us a lot of knowledge of the tarpons and the backwater. It was our pleasure to fish with Captain Rafael. One thing to mention, tarpons are extremely hard to catch species, people with no fishing experiences are likely to lose a lot of fish, landing one or two is very good already.So this is why I am really tired of reading stupid reviews wrote by stupid people who had never done any research about tarpon fishing. And I really feel sorry for the Captain since I know how desperate it is to fish with stupid people.

Great communication with Captain Rafa after we had made the booking.  We had originally booked a 2p trip but Captain Rafa called that morning and suggested we leave earlier for better fishing - great call!  Bait all ready and we were fishing in a few minutes.  My friend had planned to watch but after 1st fish he joined in.  Captain Rafa was working the whole time - baiting, a lot of chum, answering questions and very patient with two novices.  We broke a rod tip but no big deal to Rafa.  Eight tarpon in total - great experience and one of the highlights of our trips to PR.  Captain Rafa was great - highly recommended!

Came down here for Cousins trip and this was on top of the list of things to do. Chose Captain Rafa after reading all the previous reviews and SO HAPPY we did. Although the fish were not jumping in the boat we could not have had a better experience. The Captain kept on keeping on even after we had doubts. We will definitely make it a point to return 💯💯💯💯💯💯 The captain is great.
