Had a bit of a slow start (but piced up a couple nice fish)as we chose to cast fish for a while. Switched to trolling and we were set. Caught some nice walleye and a few others and had some Sheephead steal a worm or 2. Captain Ron and first make Dakota were spot on with everything they did, they kept lines locked and loaded ,untangled and kept it fun as well very personable guys to have a good conversation with. A group of 5 of us ranging from 76 to 18 years old went out with Captain Shawn and first mate Jay this morning and came in with a load of Perch. Shawn and Jay could not have been better to us and were always worried about what we wanted to do and would give great recommendations. Shawn worked hard putting us on fish but when he did what a blast. Definitely recommend Champion Charters for a great experience on Erie.

From what we heard, we did better yesterday than the other boats out there. We hit 165 perch out of 180, I couldn’t believe it. Dakota was great. Kind of guy that just knows what he’s doing, apparently.  In hindsight I’d book directly through them so FishingBooker doesn’t get a cut.

We did a two half day fish. The first day was trolling and we caught our limit of walleye by noon. The second morning we did a casting fish as the water was rough. 8 walleye and 10 catfish. We had a different Captain on each day. Both got the job done. Hats off to the First Mate Dakota, who was on the spot. I wouldn’t like to have been without his knowledge and skill. Weather changes came through the day before and the fish had moved off some of their previous locations. Captain Luke and Mate Ashten worked hard to get us on the fish and we limited out with some sizeable walleye today. Great trip…enjoyable time with family!
