The Atlantic salmon is one of the most elusive fish on the Torch Lake chain. The Atlantic salmon is like catching a king salmon with a steelhead attitude about jumping out of the water and twisting around at the back of the boat. April and May we can find them in the shallow Waters using long lines and smaller baits.

Fishing out of the port of Charlevoix has moved to the shallow Waters for king salmon. On Lake Michigan they are being caught in front of the Medusa cement plant in 10 to 30 FOW and on the drop off at 90 ft using J plugs, j-13 in the fire tiger colors and still on Geen or White flasher with a Green KRW Fly in the deeper water. On Lake Charlevoix they have been fishing around the Coast Guard Station also using J plugs and spoons. Farther down Lake Charlevoix towards Boyne City they are fishing the holes in front of whiting's Park and Summercrest 70 to 80 ft dodown oer about a hundred feet of water. Lake Trout Fishing have Been Great with larger size fish(12-20#) as long as weather holds. The perch are starting to show up around the area hoping you have a good season
