We had a few first time kids and somewhat rough seas, unfortunately sea sickness set in pretty quickly. The crew took care of everything and we still caught a few fish before heading back.  No one’s fault, they did their best.

My girlfriend and I had a great day on the water. The boat was comfy, Carlos the guide was a great host and Angel who was in contact before and organised times, taxis etc was incredibly helpful.
The conditions were not ideal, bit wavy from the day before and a lot of weed which made the fishing challenging. But Carlos did everything he could to give us a nice day and we enjoyed being on the water in the sun and swimming.
The fishing was challenging. The weed made it hard but Carlos managed to get us a couple of fish. My gf suffers from motion sickness so we weren’t able to stay near the reef or go outside where the fishing would have been a lot better. This is on us not Carlos as he tried everything he could.
For a lovely day on the water, swimming, snorkeling and some gear fishing I would 100% recommend this trip. However I dont think this should be sold as fly fishing. I am a very keen fly fisherman and it is not a fly fishing trip. There is a fly rod (top section missing) and I was allowed to fly fish as much as I wanted but there was no guiding and to be honest I am not sure Carlos could have directed me i needed. I don’t have an issue with that but selling it as a fly fishing option felt a but off the mark.

Overall though would do it again as had a great day.

A fabulous day spent off the coast of Cap Cana with Captain Carlos. While we only caught two fish, he was moving us around to try and find fish.  Not his fault they just weren’t hungry today.  Would highly recommend.
