Gino and his boys, my FishingBooker clients today had a blast catching some fun fish for the dinner table today. Right out of the gate, his sons got a double hookup with a beautiful pompano and permit. Super fun fight from the beach ?️! The morning trip did awesome with a limit of Mangrove snapper. They didn’t want them so was thrilled when they gave them to me. Let’s go catch some fish and forget the boat, we do great without it. Longboat Key is having an usual run of monster Blues hitting live baits within casting distance from the shore. Snook are solid too, with lots of slots patrolling the beaches looking for an easy meal. With the abundance of baitfish on the beach, it’s no problem to load up and then find the fish. Very large Bluefish at 10 - 12 pounds slamming live baits from the Longboat Key beaches last week. Florida’s typical Blue averages 2 to 4 pounds. Been fishing the Sarasota beaches “on-foot” for over 33 years and never have seen this species of this size. Way more common on the Northeast beaches of the U.S. like Rhode Island or Long Island and more. Looking to have a memorable experience, look no further. Fighting a fish like that is way more fun from the beach than a boat. That’s just my opinion of course. Snook are biting strong too! I know the spots.
