My son and I did a half day excursion and we couldn’t have been more pleased with the knowledge, professionalism, and generosity Alphonso and his crew mate showed my son and I. He knows the waters and fish lines very evidently. We landed SEVEN Mahi Mahi - largest to my son as we were coming in for the day 44” and 30 lbs!!!  It was a biggie! 

Alphonso is super honest as well as I almost overpaid him. He tells me “you are over paying me - honesty is key for me”. Bless you Alphonso! 

Worth every penny and will look him up when we come back again.

I recently had the pleasure of embarking on a 4-hour fishing charter with Alfonso Tours to celebrate my dad’s 60th birthday, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience! From start to finish, everything was top-notch.

Firstly, finding the location was a breeze. The directions provided were clear, and we had no trouble getting to the meeting point. This was a great start and set the tone for the rest of our adventure.

The two-person crew was exceptional. They were not only professional and knowledgeable but also incredibly friendly and attentive. They made sure we were comfortable and well-prepared for the fishing trip. Their expertise in trolling was evident, and they shared valuable tips and techniques with us.

The highlight of the trip, of course, was the fishing itself. Here were some of the highlights: three beautiful mahi-mahi and one impressive Spanish mackerel. The thrill of reeling in these catches was unparalleled. A special moment was when my dad, on his milestone birthday, reeled in a stunning 43-inch mahi-mahi! The crew’s enthusiasm was infectious, and they made sure we celebrated each catch with great excitement.

Overall, I couldn’t have asked for a better fishing charter experience. Alfonso Tours exceeded all my expectations with their outstanding service, skilled crew, and successful fishing trip. I came to vacation in Mexico with two goals in mind: 1) Relax and 2) Catch a Mahi Mahi.

Alfonso and his partner Jesus exceeded my expectations and made both goals happen for my girlfriend and I. Our trip consisted of 3 hours of fishing, a hour break were we snorkeled and hung out on a nice secluded beach, then finished the trip with 2 more hours of fishing. The break was wonderful to break up a long trip and was much needed since my girlfriend was beginning to feel a little seasick. Alfonso and Jesus gladly headed to towards shore to a nice beach where we snorkeled by a wonderful reef with so many colorful fish and playful rays. It was so relaxing and gave my girlfriend the break she needed to continue the fishing trip. During our fishing time, Alfonso and Jesus were able to hook not only 1, but 3 Mahi Mahi for me! Two of the fish we released due to size but one we kept. When we returned from the fishing trip, Alfonso connected us with a restaurant that cleaned and cooked the fish and prepared a nice lunch for my girlfriend and I.

Overall, Alfonso and Jesus were very accommodating and created a wonderful experience for us! Can’t wait to come back and fish with them again!

We were originally scheduled to go out on a Tuesday, but it had to be rescheduled for a Thursday. Alfonso was great at communicating with me leading up to each day. When we went out on April 4, we were able to catch a couple Atlantic bonitos. We didn’t have much luck trolling, nothing was biting. Alfonso took us to a spot where we were able to bottom fish from the side of the boat and we were getting bites pretty quickly. Overall a great experience. This trip was for our 7 year old boy who wanted to go fishing and we have no regrets. We all had a great time and Alfonso and his first mate, Jesus were both great. If we’re back in Playa del Carmen, we will be going back out with Alfonso. The restaurant where we met at cooked our catch for us and it was delicious. Definitely recommend that.
