Had a special kind of charter with clientw that where spending thw night at the Pearl islands Archipiรฉlago and requested a powerboat to be picked up at Contadora island early in the morning to for some deepseafishing at the shelf. Great weathers and marked driflines with lots of debris, ideal for some trolling and like always top of the line with mahi and wahoo! Get ready for the whalewatching season!!!

We are in the peak of the deepseafishing season, that means looking for open ocean driftlines where nutrient rich currents are the ideal place were variois species meet. While lookink for tuna and mahi we spotted this very peculiar whale shark eating krill and as soon as it saw decided to approach the vessel to say hi... was it trying to mate??

Last week we captured our first mahi-mahi of the season and that officially shows that the deepsea fishing season has started! calm seas, warm waters and dispersed rain which is what helps organic debris and nutrients to start being flushed by rivers into the Pacific Ocean. Mahi Mahi, monster Spanish mackerel and tuna will be the specialty of the moment! starting June we will start seeing whales migrating through our oceans!

Great day of fishing at The Pearl Islands Archipelago, this group of islands is surrounded by deep water trenches ideal to throw jigs and let the magic happen! We got some Spanish mackerel bites which are normally a species that falls on deep diver trolling however there's was this rock we were jigging with a lot of structure and noticed lots of baitfish on our fish finder, it seemed that Spanish mackerel were feasting on this baitfish.
