- Captain Roberto Navarro has been guiding fishing charters out of Puerto Aventuras since 2004. In this area, he’s known as the pioneer of high-speed jigging, being attributed as the one who brought this special technique to Playa del Carmen more than a decade-and-a-half ago. Capt. Roberto is also an avid conservationist. He studied Fishing Engineering in university to learn about innovative ways to approach both socioeconomic and ecological issues regarding overfishing. He prefers the catch-and-release method and encourages other captains to do the same in order to ensure a brighter future for fish habitats around the world. Capt. Roberto is an easy-going, down-to-earth guy who loves fishing, especially swordfishing! He used to be a commercial fisherman but today he focuses solely on his charter business and putting smiles on people’s faces!
