Couldn’t have asked for a better fishing trip out on the ocean. Captain Steve was awesome with my 2 kids, especially being it was their first trip out into the ocean fishing. Came across a giant school of Dolphin and drove the boat through them while the chased our boat and swam right up to our feet dangling off the boat. Steve took my two boys (12 and 10) out on his larger boat, and it was so much fun. Steve knows all the spots to hit certain fish, and is just so knowledgeable. We caught barracuda, calico bass, mackerel and a Bonita. We just showed up and Steve took care of the rest. He’s also genuinely nice and funny, can’t recommend his enough. If you want to fish out of Dana Point, you shouldn’t look anywhere else.

We went out on the Rockenreel for a quick fishing trip. The purpose was a family outing so my son could catch his first fish. Captain Steve and Thor made sure my son caught that fish and then some. The boat was fun to be on it was fast!  We had a fun time getting to know the crew and their back stories and just having a day out on the ocean. I was fortunate enough to book a trip with Captain Steve for myself and a friend with his kids. The best captain and trup I have been on in a long time, he is a fishing machine. When your moving between spots, the story’s he has to tell had us laughing the whole time. Every kid caught fish and when a 5 foot mako swam by he went into action. Such a great cruise with Cap’N Steve. What a rad and knowledgeable guy. He took us out the harbor and along the beautiful Dana Point/Laguna coastline. He let us take everything in ourselves but also pointed out some really cool things we probably would have missed without his experience. You can tell he really loves what he does.
