A Great Morning on Green Lake

Today was a fantastic day on the water with my clients during a half-day morning trip on Green Lake, Wisconsin. Despite the overcast skies, the fishing conditions were excellent. We located several pods of baitfish and worked them effectively using drop shots and tube baits. The fish were aggressive and active, making for an exciting morning. One of the highlights of the trip was a client landing his very first smallmouth bassโ€”his smile said it all! In just a few hours, we boated big northern pike, rock bass, and some great smallmouth. It was an action-packed outing, and I couldnโ€™t be happier with how the day turned out. Looking forward to seeing these clients again soon for more time on the water!

Today was his first time targeting smallmouth, and conditions were just right. We missed a few bites early on, but once he got the hang of it, things came together nicely. Between the tubes and the drop shot, he managed to land a few solid smallies! We fished a variety of depths, anywhere from 17 to 40 feet, and found success across the board. Green Lake continues to be a fun and productive spot, and today was no exception. Overall, it was a great day on the water. The clients went home happy, and thatโ€™s what itโ€™s all about.

This was a graat day, Cash is my son but he landed his first Smallie! He was able to target smallies rhat were fedding off of ledges through his bed (that he chosse) at the ripplies and landed rhis amazing fish. They wee chasing minnows i put the spot lovk on and he had a great time. I cant wait to see how he progresses as an angler. His custom rod worked perfectly and i know he will be guiding somedayโ€ฆ.. So easy that a toddler can catch them the summer pattern is on!

Despite 25 mph winds, 94ยฐ heat, and whitecaps on the lake, the fish were still willing to bite! We had a board full of northerns, a few bass, and some crappie to show for it. We tried to target some walleyes, but for whatever reason, they just didnโ€™t want to cooperate todayโ€”which is perfectly fine, because the rest of the action more than made up for it. We tested out all the new casting gear, and it performed flawlessly. The clients were very happy with both the equipment and the overall experience. We focused on transition areas, gravel bottoms, and some clay patches, and also spent some time working the weeds. Every spot gave us something different to think about, making it a truly interesting and dynamic day on the water. The group did a fantastic job out there, and Iโ€™m already looking forward to guiding them again. Hopefully, the lake continues to fish as well as it did today!
