This was out third time with this crew. The boat was on time and the crew and Captain were very nice and spoke English very well. They are fun and make you feel welcome.  These guys worked so hard and we had young Antonio that was learning the ropes and you could see the respect he had for his elder crew members Augusto and Captain Victor. You don’t see much of that work ethic and respect in North America anymore so it’s gives me hope for humanity. The fishing was very slow but these guys tried everything they could and about 5 minutes before we got to our Pier to finish our trip they hooked into a nice sailfish.  that’s fishing for you but any day fishing beats a day at work. Will be fishing with them again in the future that’s for sure.

My fiance and I were staying in playa del Carmen and took a ferry across to Cozumel. Where Grand Slam and its crew were patiently waiting just down the road a few hundred yards. Once lines were out we had a double on about 4 to 6lbs dorado and it never stopped. We fished for 8 hours starting at about 830 and the longest we went without putting a fish in the boat was about 45 mins. We had chances they just didn’t stick during that 45 mins around noon. We ended up with 17 dorado one of them was a big Bull mahi mahi about 35 lbs. We had another big one come off right at the boat. And one small barracuda. The crew never stopped working the rods and changing baits and since I am an experienced fisherman’s they ran me through their operations and had me letting out rods during a period where we put 6 fish in the boat and dorado were jumping and chasing our baits all around us. They kept stealing our baits and flying out of the water. It was just my fiance and I and it was something we will never forget.

We booked a 8 hour trip beginning at 7:00 am. The crew had the boat ready when we arrived. Within minutes, we were trolling for wahoo in the deep waters outside the marina. We caught a wahoo about 20 minutes into the trip. After that we headed north to the northeast side of island and fished near the lighthouse there. We had consistent action the whole time and it was furious at times. We ended up catching wahoo, amberjack, barracuda, and several nice snappers. The food was great and the captain used one of the snappers to make ceviche. The whole group is looking forward to going back next year!

Grand slam crew are solid! Every time we go out we catch fish, some more than others but it’s always tight lines! This year was a surprise, it was my wife’s birthday and our anniversary. To our surprise Gusto and Victor presented my wife with a birthday cake on the boat! Fishing was great but memories were the best! Mucho grasias to Gusto and Victor. Until next time!

We had a great time fishing even Though the waves were a little rough. We trolled pretty much all day Hooked up on several mahi and a blackfin tuna. We also hooked up on a huge sea monster probably a blue marlin. He spooled us within 30 seconds of hookup and then the line snapped.  I swear i saw the reel smoking. He jumped once the splash was 20 feet tall. He must have been a giant blue marlin.  Hes still out there. Find him!
