On a beautiful Sunday morning in late July, I fished with Captain Paul Triolo in the Atlantic Ocean, off the shore from Rhode Island, from 5:30 to 10:30.  I had hoped to catch a huge striped bass, but it turned out that I had come a couple weeks too late in the season.  When our striper fishing failed, we turned to bottom fishing, and boy did we catch fish.  I myself caught 28 black sea bass, 9 scups, 4 flukes, and 2 northern searobins.  This is the second year I have fished with Captain Paul, and both times he has exceeded my expectations.  I frequently use a fishing guide, and I rate Captain Paul among the very best I know.

I had a wonderful day with Captain Paul, fly fishing Narragansett Bay.  The conditions were challenging at first as a cold front was passing through.  But his intimate knowledge of the area and tireless efforts to find the fish and get them to bite ultimately paid off. We visited a few secluded spots and caught several nice stripers.  We lost several more as a result of my rusty skills from a winter of inaction.  I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and highly recommend it.

Had a great time fishing with Capt. Paul. His advertised expertise is fly fishing and he is truly a great fly fisherman and coach. He had top notch gear (fly and conventional)  that is very well maintained and he loves to share his passion. I am an experienced salt water angler (onshore and offshore) but not much of a fly fisherman.  We started the day with spinning gear and conventional gear and mid-way through the day (once we had a couple of black sea bass for table fare in the cooler), we shifted to fly gear.  He was patient and provided great instruction.  We ran the entire perimeter of Block Island and then up the beach near Narragansett until we found a body of stripers. We spent the next 90 minutes successfully catching and releasing schoolies on the fly.  It was awesome and I definitely came away with the bug. I’ve been messing around casting in my front yard since returning from the trip

Capt. Paul is extremely laid back. We spent the day laughing and sharing a great time on the water.  The boat provides a great casting platform with lots of room for a 23 footer to move around. And it provides a solid ride - no rattles, shakes or noises. I’m looking at the calendar and anxiously trying to find time to head back for another outing.

I fished in Narragansett Bay with Captain Paul from 6:30 AM to noon on a Thursday morning in May.  I caught 2 huge bluefish, 3 big striped bass, 3 sea robins, and 1 scup.  Paul knew where the fish were likely to be, and we kept moving until we found fish.  I had a wonderful time and look forward to returning to fish with Paul again.

Our captain was great! We were surround by fish the entire trip. Always available to help and bring our fish into the boat. This was my first time going saltwater fishing and I can’t wait to go again! Captain Paul was very informative and laid back. The boat was very clean and I even got to try fly fishing! Can’t say enough good things about this trip and captain! I just wish we chose a full day instead of a half!
