Recently had my 5th ‘Vet-friendly’ fishing charter with Captain Zac, his mate and three Old Southeast friends—FINtastic!

Caught several species including various grouper, snapper, pogie & triggerfish. Of course, some had to be catch & release either due to season restrictions or size. But we enjoyed a continuous bite in 4+ spots!

Fish is always expertly cleaned and fileted. Delicious fillets and plenty to go around for the families. Perfect ending to another perfect charter with Captain Zac. His special Military/Veteran rates make a great fishing trip possible for many vets, Thank You Captain Zac!

We have very little experience fishing, but Captain Zac and Ralph helped teach us (family of 5 with 3 boys ages 9, 6, and 4) and we were catching fish within 10 minutes of anchoring down at our first stop. We caught a wide variety of fish and were able to keep 8 of them, which Ralph prepared for us. Our boys say it’s the highlight of their Florida vacation! Thanks Captain Zac and Ralph for a wonderful time!

We had a great trip!  We caught some snapper,  then a nice dusky shark (that was a battle).  After the shark catch we were losing fish to sharks.  So we reeled up to move but the boat started having a lifter pump issue (feeds the duel fuel pump modules that feed the motors I think).  After sitting for a bit and rebooting the electronics we got both motors going again.  The captain had also used a Satellite phone to give them a heads up we were having issues.  We were 30 miles out or so.  We headed to the marina at that point.  Anyway, we made it back fine.  And the captain gave us a discount due to the shortened trip.  Even with the fuel pump issue, we had a great time.  If/when we’re back in the area we’d do it again.  My thanks to our 2 captains Zach and his deck hand and former captain of a ferry, Ralph.  We were definitely in good hands today.  They kept us safe and we had a blast, even though it was shortened. 

P.S. We also just had our first red snapper meal from that trip.  It fed 5 of us with one fish plus a little leftover.  Yum!  I do love fresh seafood!

Captain Zac and mate Ralph are fantastic.  This was the 5th or 6th time we have gone out with the Niche II and had a great morning on the water.  The fish didn’t cooperate as we would have liked (there was a full moon the night before and they ate all night) but we caught 12 or 13 keepers, enough for two dinners for a large party.

I can’t recommend Captain Zac enough…he always has his eye on safety and he knows the water.  We will be hitting Zac up before our next trip to the area.

This trip was nothing short of incredible! I’ve fished a lot and this is easily the best trip I’ve ever been on. Capt Zac and first mate Ralph were professional, kind, knowledgeable and a lot of fun and we absolutely KILLED IT fishing with them. We brought home 28 fish, and easily caught 40 including all the ones we threw back. We caught all kinds of snapper, grouper, grunts, a puffer fish, and ended the day with a good sized Bonita.

I can’t recommend them enough, they put us on fish from the go and were great with my 9 year old son who was with us. Can’t wait to fish with them again
