NOT official fishing boat or captain!  You will NOT be picked up at the Quepos marina but instead you will be the sole angler picked up by a random bridge (red flag).  Next you will NOT be going out with the fishing fleet of charters nor will you ever be anywhere in the vicinity to them even if they call out on the radio.  The Coast Guard pulled our boat over for a check and the captain told them it was a sightseeing tour !  The first mate had NO documentation and the Coast Guard officer was very uncomfortable with them.  The officer issued a ticket but I am not clear what infraction he cited. The encounter lasted 45mins and was very very uncomfortable!

The captain is personable but at the end of the day the fishing expedition was a bust as we only had 4 small triple tails and those were not able to be fileted due to their small size.

This was my 5th time to Quepos for fishing and my last.  Recommend Los Suenos as an alternative marina!!
