Summer is officially here, and summer salmon fishing in Vancouver is off to a hot start! Coho salmon fishing has been on fire for at least the last few weeks with good numbers of hatchery fish in the mix. In addition, pink salmon should start showing up in numbers any day now, as we are expecting a record return this year, estimated at 27 million fish! And if that weren’t enough, chinook salmon returns for the past few years have also been spectacular, and we expect the same again for this year. While yesterday was a little cloudy and chilly for this time of year, fishing in the Vancouver area continues to be terrific this Spring, with good numbers of chinook salmon in local waters.
