Roy's Fishing Charters
Roy's Fishing Charters operate in the beautiful waters of the Salish Sea and Howe Sound, around the spectacular city of Vancouver, BC. They offer year-round charters for all available and in-season species of Pacific Salmon. On longer charters in winter and spring, Crab and Prawn traps may be dropped as well. Captain Roy Tanami has fished these waters all his life, and has also guided up and down the entire BC coast for over 25 years.
You'll be cruising the local waters aboard 'Rebel One,' an immaculate, 21' custom-designed, welded aluminum fishing machine. She's built like a tank, handles like a BMW, and is also just plain fun to run around in! An excellent hull design also means safe, comfortable rides even when the sea gets a little bumpy.
A 200 HP 4-stroke Yamaha engine gets you to the fishing quickly, and a 10 HP kicker keeps you going all day. Scotty downriggers, Raymarine GPS, plotter, and sounder, a marine VHF radio, and an onboard sound system complete the package. To ensure a top experience for everyone, Roy focuses on small group charters, and best accommodates 2 guests per trip, with the option of one additional guest for an extra price.
Please don't forget to get your British Columbia Tidal Waters fishing license, as the charter doesn't cover it. At the end of your trip, your fish will be cleaned, filleted, and bagged. Children are welcome, too so bring the whole family and experience a unique Vancouver fishing adventure with Roy's Fishing Charters!

Roy was fantastic from the get go. Knowledgeable and easy to talk to. Gear and boat were in great condition, and comfortable. We were targeting Coho salmon, and caught several. Wild ones were released, as well as a couple undersized fish, and a couple king salmon whch were not available to keep in the area we fished, sadly. All in all, we had a great time, caught dinner, and enjoyed the day. Would highly recommend this charter to anyone.

Thanks Giles! Good luck with all the CA fishing adventures.
Spent the day with Roy Tanami fishing for Salmon using downriggers. We started on at the bottom of the tide so fishing was slow but soon picked up when the tide started to run. Caught six coho & 2 chinook between 2 of us up till midday. Then the. current shifted & that put the fish off the bite for everyone. 2 fish were hatchery coho that we kept. Rest were wild so released.

Thanks Mark!
Many thanks to captain Roy for providing us with a top quality fishing experience. His professional friendly assistance was first class. A great memory of a wonderful day - We would highly recommend this charter👍👍🦈🦈

Thanks Ian! Fun afternoon. Thanks again for coming out and hope you enjoyed your salmon dinner!

We went salmon fishing off the coast of Vancouver with Captain Roy Tanami. He was incredibly friendly and introduced us to a classic "BC" fishing style, using light-action rods and single-action reels. It was a fantastic excursion—we caught over twenty salmon on a beautiful day, all against a breathtaking backdrop. It was a truly memorable experience that we will cherish for a long time.

thanks David!

Roy is always positive and courteous. He is extremely knowledgable about local waters. Even though we didn’t get any keepers today, it was still a great day.

Thanks Greg! Always great fishing with you. Too bad yesterday's fish was too big to keep!🤦🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️

I was born and raised in a commercial fishing family on the west coast of BC, so sportfishing was just a natural progression for me. Now, I've been lucky enough to fish and guide all over the world.
