Roy's Fishing Charters
Roy’s Fishing Charters operate in the beautiful waters of the Salish Sea and Howe Sound, around the spectacular city of Vancouver, BC. They offer year-round charters for all available and in-season species of Pacific Salmon. On longer charters in winter and spring, Crab and Prawn traps may be dropped as well. Captain Roy Tanami has fished these waters all his life, and has also guided up and down the entire BC coast for over 25 years.
You’ll be cruising the local waters aboard "Rebel One," an immaculate, 21’ custom-designed, welded aluminum fishing machine. She’s built like a tank, handles like a BMW, and is also just plain fun to run around in! An excellent hull design also means safe, comfortable rides even when the sea gets a little bumpy.
A 200 HP 4-stroke Yamaha engine gets you to the fishing quickly, and a 10 HP kicker keeps you going all day. Scotty downriggers, Raymarine GPS, plotter, and sounder, a marine VHF radio, and an onboard sound system complete the package. To ensure a top experience for everyone, Roy focuses on small group charters, and best accommodates 2 guests per trip, with the option of one additional guest for an extra price.
Please don’t forget to get your British Columbia Tidal Waters fishing license, as the charter doesn’t cover it. At the end of your trip, your fish will be cleaned, filleted, and bagged. Great day on the water!
We had a marvellous time with Roy's fishing charter. Our half-day tour started out with a double-header not five minutes into fishing. Captain Roy was an excellent guide, making sure we enjoyed our time on the water to the fullest. We caught our limit of coho, never having dull moment. Captain Roy is extremely knowledgeable of the area, and is a pleasure to talk to. We are planning a sequel for sure. I would highly recommend Roy's fishing charter.

Booked a 5 hour charter with Captain Roy. The meeting spot was pretty clear and accessible, and right away the captain made great conversation and helped us to feel very comfortable. The boys and I had a great time out on the water! Fishing was slow… a bummer but definitely not the captains fault. It seemed like most boats didn’t have great luck either even though we saw numerous fish jumping out of the water. Nonetheless we were grateful for good hospitality!

Fishing with Roy
Roy was very responsible given possible poor weather conditions. He communicated clearly. He helped us catch fish, even though we couldn't keep them due to laws about what types can be kept. He was very courteous and friendly during the entire trip. If we could have kept some fish, I'm sure we would have been more excited.

I had such a fantastic afternoon with Captain Roy! Not only did we catch our limit of our targeted fish, but I learned new techniques from.this trip! Roy is an absolute gem and excellent company! 10/10 will be hiring this Charter next season!!!
