Capt. Alfredo was awesome! We caught several Yellow Tail Amberjack and then switched to fish other species: Cabria & Sea Bass.  My friend and I had our wives along and they had a wonderful time catching Sea Bass, watching Spinner Dolphins and humpback whales.  We highly recommend Rubio’s Sport Fishing Charter Service!!

Alfredo was awesome! Family friendly trip! Fishing was slow but caught a skipjack, dorado and trigger. Had a few bites that broke loose but had a lot of fun fighting them for a little bit with the kids. The provided burritos and drinks were yummy too! We stopped at Coronado Island for some beach time and a swim at the end of the day which was perfect to cool down. They vacuum packed the fish we kept, and delivered them the next day. Rubio fishing charters out of Lareto Mexico have the best return for your money. They are hospitable, friendly and best yet….they put you on fish. We have fished with the Rubio family for 2 trips now and plan on fishing with them for more years to come.

Not so fast. I was fishing for yellowtail and/or dorado and I hooked a blue marlin. Mind you the boat wasn’t a marlin boat. No chair you strapped into and such. Just rod and reel. Experience of a lifetime. The captain and I fought this magnificent fish for two and a half hours just to get it to the boat so I could get a pic and release it. I couldn’t have done it without the skipper. I highly recommend these guys.

Our scheduled day was forecast for high winds.  Captain Alfredo got in touch the day before and worked out a new day with better conditions. After catching fresh live bait we were off. Still a bit windy but not bad. Within 5 minutes of putting lines in the water we had 2 fish on. After about 2 1/2 hours of fishing we had 5 fish in the boat. Wind was picking up so we called it a day and headed in. We all got soaked on the return but had a great time!
