My experience with the owner James was full of lies in order to accomplish a booking.
First of it’s listed as per 5 capacity… when in fact max capacity is actually for 4 persons.
Also. I paid $16/including their 18% tax mark up on everything for lunches, which are horrible and don’t recommend!!! That should’ve included water and beers for the day…. come to find out once we embarked on our trip we didn’t have water, and beer was pipe dream.
How in the world do you send human beings out to sea , which paid for full services without water… I had my 13 year old son along, luckily I took some water.
The thing that angered me the most is his lies… once I spoke to him he said he would tend to the matter, which he never did.. I called him on my last day before heading out from La Paz and he indicated that he personally checked and there was water, and soft drinks…
all in all the captain and deckhand were good guys, this was my 5th time fishing the Sea Of Cortez and would NIT recommend this Charter, unless you have 4 persons, and take all that you need (food & water) for the day.
Complete debacle dealing with this owner to do the right thing once we concluded the trip.
Sure he’ll respond to my review with politically correct dialogue- trust me

Where do I start…..pricing is the first issue you will encounter. you’re told multiple times how much you’re gonna pay, but on arrival there’s a tax of 18% which is never mentioned but significantly increases your total. Just about $900. You leave at 7am and head for the bait shop which is a short ride to Tecolote island. Our captain was in no hurry and wasted about an hour waiting for bait while other boats pulled up and got bait quickly….the deckhand finally rushed him and we got some bait. Finally off to the fishing grounds we go….just kidding. The bait you pay for, which is $50, is actually used to catch the real bait you’re gonna need. Bonito…which they then in turn fillet and use to troll for Dorado. Now, you’d think that with this captains years of experience and the boat being equipped with a “fish finder” (didn’t see one) AND the crew supposedly being familiar with the area AND paying $900, you’d think you’d be placed in a position where May actually have a chance at catching a fish and come home with something decent. Nope, the captain trolled for a total of 4 to 4 a half hours. There was no consistency, and no change in technique despite no bites. It felt like you were on the most expensive tour in town. Captain trolled the same area back and forth, felt like he was just running down the clock. Headed back in exactly at 2 and we docked at 2:30. Didn’t even fish 8 hours, we brought home what was left of our bait, a bonito, and a single dorado. I’ve been fishing for years and I know that a skunk is nothing out of the ordinary but the effort and service were subpar. Stay away. Do your research and get your moneys worth else where. Deckhand was good.
