I have been on many charters and normally catch some edible fish. The captain is responsible for putting you on the fish and when they don’t it’s very disappointing. When booking captains should be honest and tell you your target fish are hard to find at the scheduled time.

Sorry you were disappointed in your catch. We do our best to get guests on to the fish they would like to catch and always inform them if their requested species is not available at the time of their charter. The species you requested are being caught at this time of year. Earlier in the week we were catching Yellowfin and black fin tuna as well as the skipjack tuna which you caught. So Captain Mike is pretty Salty. Not much interaction which is fine. The Mate was great. He was attentive, and worked hard to get the job done. Fishing was average at best. The boat and equipment was functional, but definitely in need of care, maintenance, and some serious renovations. Overall it was an Average trip by the best standards.

Sorry you were disappointed in your charter. We strive to make every charter productive and enjoyable and are usually successful. I was the Captain on board Chubasco for your charter. Operating the boat from the flybridge does somewhat limit my view of the cockpit, however I did not experience the same behavior from the mate as in your review. The mate was always responsive to my direction when called to adjust lines etc. You were welcome to the seating in the flybridge where I was... More

Sorry you were disappointed in your charter. We strive to make every charter productive and enjoyable and are usually successful.
I was the Captain on board Chubasco for your charter. Operating the boat from the flybridge does somewhat limit my view of the cockpit, however I did not experience the same behavior from the mate as in your review. The mate was always responsive to my direction when called to adjust lines etc. You were welcome to the seating in the flybridge where I was steering the boat. Had you mentioned any concerns or complaints to me, they could have been addressed immediately .
