What a great experience! First time that my friends and I reserved a private charter.  Let me tell you, we made the right decision! Captain Roger is so knowledgeable of the waters he put us directly on the fish after getting the live bait. Captain Roger and his deck hand are super awesome…felt like we had known these guys forever. From now on private charter is the way to go for us and with Captain Roger is the only way. Better book your dates before we take them all haha.

My recent fishing trip to Catalina Island was absolutely spectacular—truly a dream come true. From start to finish, every moment was filled with excitement, beauty, and incredible wildlife encounters. Captain Roger was so professional and considerate with my son (age 9) and he also made the trip really comfortable for me as a woman who has never fished before.

Captain Roger was incredibly knowledgeable about the best fishing spots. Everywhere we dropped a line we pulled up fish! We caught an impressive total of 26 fish, including red snapper, chucklehead, starry backs and groupers —all in a single trip! Watching our effort pay off with such a bountiful catch was incredibly rewarding.

After our fishing, we headed to a spot on the beach on Catalina where we cooked our fresh catch right over an open fire.

I cannot recommend this adventure more highly!

From communication before the trip and up to the morning of our charter, he was very responsive.  The boat was well equipped and the first mate was friendly and helpful. Roger, the Captain, knew all the spots to catch fish.  We fished with him for two days and caught a lot of fish and a huge variety.  He is very attentive to detail.  He asked what we were going to do with our fish and when we said we ship it home, he offered to find us a packing/shipping company. When he could not find one so early in the season, he came up with a solution. He vacuum sealed and shipped it himself!  Now that is top shelf service.  I am not that experienced and he made me feel welcome and helped me. On the other hand, my husband is a very experienced angler and he respected that.  As a VERY Special treat, he made Ceviche with the fresh snapper we caught!  That is over and above service. We felt like honored guests in his home. The fact that he is good at his job is because he loves what he does and that is evident.  If you are looking for a charter out of Long Beach, do yourself a favor a book with Captain Roger of ROGEZAC Fishing.  He also owns Leahklea SPORTFISHING. This is a family owned and operated business. We can’t wait to eat the fish we caught!

I am almost 70 and been on the ocean my whole life. I have been on many charters. This was my 7th trip out with Roger and his deck man Jesse. The last 2 times limits and lots of 3lb to 5 pound and this massive bug that we photo’d and let go to live another day. Took my grand kids on a few day fishing trips. They loved it and Roger was so patient. Getting off boat he was there new uncle ...kids saying thank you uncle Roger. He checks all the boxes for lobster or fishing charters and his prices are extremely reasonable. Thank you Roger and Jesse for making so many memories for me and my family. The Captain knows what he is doing. Took about a few miles to a gnarly spot! Despite the winds we we had fish on the line with almost every cast. Got to take my grandfather out for a fun day of fishing. Had to of caught about 20 fish but kept the ones that met the limit size. Awesome day of Calico and Sand Bass and Sculpins. Will def go back with this captain for a longer trip next time. Great experience.
