Jim was the ultimate guide! He had all the gear ready to go, the boat was great, he knew exactly where to go to catch sturgeon and he was wonderful with my 13 year old son. In addition, he was personable and funny. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and if we get back to Washington, we will absolutely book Jim again!!

My son my wife and I came from Minnesota with the goal of learning something about salmon fishing in the rivers of the Pacific Northwest, a type of fishing we’ve never before had the chance to experience. This was the perfect trip. Jim was clearly very organized and prepared and had a plan for how to best handle the high water conditions from the recent rain. He had ton of valuable knowledge about fishing in the area and put us on some fantastic fish. Would defiantly book again.

We planned this trip for a long time. Me and my boyfriend never had a guided tour before. We were praying for no rain and we had that, but we didn’t catch any salmon, Jim used all of his “magic” tricks and we fished at multiple spots. Despite all that, we had a wonderful time with Jim. Perfect day on the river! Jim is an incredible guide: friendly, patient, knowledgeable, and really creates an enjoyable experience for all skill levels. This was my favorite style of fishing: zipping around the river casting and reeling in spinners all day (with some of Jim’s homemade bait). My wife and I were on a trip to do some hiking and visit relatives.  We decided to book a day of king salmon fishing.  We fished the Columbia River near Chinook.  Jim has a first rate set up.  The boat has plenty of room and his gear was top notch.  No one on the water that day seemed to be having much success.  But Jim worked hard at trying to put us on fish.  By the end of the day we got a couple bites and managed to land one beautiful king salmon.
