Family Fun and Big Fins on the 7 Mares The Catch of the Day It was a banner day for quality and variety, proving that you don't need a full day on the water to land some "wall-hanger" trophies. - Black Grouper: The heavyweight of the trip! As you can see in the photo, our guests hauled up a massive Black Grouper that tested both the gear and the angler's strength. - Mutton Snapper: We continued our hot streak with these beautiful, rosy-hued fish. They remain a favorite for our clients due to their stubborn fight and excellent table quality. A Family Affair: The highlight of the trip wasn't just the fish, but the smiles. Seeing the younger generation get involved and light up at the sight of a monster Grouper is what the Pescado Adventures experience is all about.

Morning Magic on the 7 Mares: Pescado Adventures Fishing Report The Caribbean sun was just beginning to paint the horizon as we slipped out of the Puerto Aventuras marina for an early morning 4-hour session aboard our 38ft Bertram, '7 Mares'. There is a certain stillness to the Riviera Maya coastline in those early hoursโ€”before the breeze picks upโ€”that makes the ocean feel like it belongs only to you, but the quiet didn't last long; while the coffee was still hot, our teamโ€™s hard work paid off and the reels were already starting to sing. The Catch of the Day Mutton Snapper: The star of the show! As you can see in the photos, we landed some truly impressive specimens. These fish are known for their wary nature and incredible fight, but they are even better known for being one of the best-tasting fish in the Caribbean. Yellowtail Snapper: We rounded out the haul with a healthy mess of Yellowtails. These are a local favoriteโ€”fast, aggressive, and perfect for a fresh ceviche back on shore. The Pescado Experience At Pescado Adventures, we pride ourselves on more than just the fish. Itโ€™s about the experience of being on the water in one of the most beautiful regions in the world. While the peak sailfish season isn't officially in full swing yet here in the Riviera Maya, this past Monday provided a perfect example of why this is our favorite time of year. While much of the world is bundled up, our guests were out on the deep blue enjoying the stunning natural beauty of the Caribbean Sea. Conditions Crystal clear Caribbean blue with a light breeze and perfect billfish weather. The Catch of the Day We are thrilled to share this incredible moment from our trip on January 19th! Our client had a "life-long dream" of landing a trophy billfish, and the Pescado Adventures team was determined to make it happen. After a short cruise out from the Puerto Aventuras Marinaโ€”where the drop-off allows us to get lines in the water almost immediatelyโ€”the reels started screaming. It was an acrobatic battle against a magnificent Atlantic Sailfish. These are among the fastest hunters in the ocean, and seeing that iconic dorsal fin slice through the water is a spectacle that never gets old. Beyond the Billfish While the sailfish stole the show, the Riviera Maya coastline continues to be productive for a variety of species this month, including: - Wahoo & Kingfish: Adding some high-speed excitement to the trolling lines. - Bottom Fishing: Yielding fresh Snapper for that famous Pescado Adventures tableside ceviche.

While traditional seasonality tells us that sailfish peak between February and June, the Caribbean Sea clearly didnโ€™t get the memo this year! Just two days before Christmas, our crew and guests were treated to an incredible early-season surprise right on our doorstep. We had barely cleared the Puerto Aventuras Marina when the outrigger snapped. After a spirited, acrobatic battle, we successfully brought a beautiful Sailfish on board for a quick photo-op before letting this beauty back into the water.

Every day is a fishing day if you are anywhere close to Puerto Aventuras in the Riviera Maya. ?? Thereโ€™s something about that first light hitting the Caribbean and the hum of the engines as we head out past the reef. Itโ€™s not always about the "trophy"โ€”though pulling in a couple of solid Kingfish like these certainly doesn't hurt. Itโ€™s about the sun, the salt air, and the crew that makes every trip feel like a day out with old friends. The Riviera Maya coastline never gets old, especially when youโ€™re watching it from the deck with a rod in your hand. If youโ€™re in the area, you know where to find us. Tight lines, everyone.

Early Season Marlin The Mexican Caribbean continues to surprise with this early peek at a really strong fighter. It took a good 45 minutes to reel this big guy in. ? December 11th brought us a massive Blue Marlin that reminded everyone why we love these waters. The strength and endurance of this fish made for an epic battle on the deck, and seeing that blue shimmer against the Caribbean turquoise never gets old. We are seeing incredible activity earlier than expected this season, proving that there is no "off-season" when youโ€™re in the right spot!
