Captain
Ryan McHugh

Member since March 2022 Charleston, United States
Background
Capt. Ryan was born and raised in Greenwood, SC. He spent his summers in Charleston going to camp at The Citadel starting at age 9. He moved to Charleston in 1998 when he attended The Citadel in College, and he has remained here ever since. The captain has spent his entire childhood fishing salt water and ponds and streams. He loves it all – fly fishing, spin rods, big conventional reels, bait casters, and more. He has crossed every fish off his list in South Carolina and now he enjoys helping people cross the same species off their lists!
Techniques
Capt. Ryan loves fly fishing! He has been doing it since he was about 12 years old. He loves the challenge of trying to catch any species on the fly rod. In the past 12 years, the captain has spent more and more time bottom fishing in the open ocean. He loves this style of fishing since technology and technique play a big part in it. You never know what it is that you are going to catch!
