Hi all,

Booked an afternoon charter with Capt Dale from Twilight Fishing Charters on 29 Mar 2025. Very responsive on fishing booker and capt Dale even called me prior to the trip to provide some advice and checked to see if we are ready. One of my companions was very sea sick and capt Dale was quick to turn the boat back alongside to ensure she was okay. 

Within a few hours we caught dozens of good size pinkies and mackies (17 to 32cm). Cpt Dale is truly experienced with the fishing area in the bay. His bottom fishing and burly techniques are very effective.

Even got to meet some wild sea lions too!

We spent a great morning out on the Bay. We departed a bit late - a deliberate move to make our trip more pleasant, as the wind was dropping as we started. Unfortunately the fish weren’t playing the game but three of us still had a great time. Dale is a 100% top bloke who knows his stuff, communicates well and spent the whole time trying to chase the action for us. Despite a quiet day we still managed to pull in whiting and salmon (exciting chase!) as Dale searched hard and maximised our time on the water to deliver a great experience. Thanks Dale. We can thoroughly recommend this charter if you want a few hours of fun and value for money.

What an adventure!

Bit quiet on the bite early but Dale kept positive and moving around until we hit a bounty of King George Whiting.
Thoroughly enjoyed the small craft one on one catered experience.
A confident, safe navigator and a sharp, educated angler who was very enthusiastic about us getting a bag.
I appreciated him taking the time to show off the local fur seal tribe, and a bunch of other sea creatures as they popped up.
But most of all sharing his wisdom and encouragement with my son. He appeared genuinely excited every time he landed a fish.

It was our first time venturing out on an ocean fishing trip, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience than the one we had with Captain Dale. From the moment we stepped aboard, he was warm, welcoming, and incredibly patient with us first-timers. Dale took his time teaching us how to properly handle the fishing rods, repeating the steps until we felt comfortable and confident.

While the conditions were perfect, the action started off slow. But Dale kept things exciting by taking us to several of his favorite fishing spots. His expertise really stood out as he adjusted our techniques and moved us around, ensuring we had the best shot at a great catch. By the end of the day, each of us managed to reel in some beautiful salmon, making it an experience we’ll never forget.

Dale wasn’t just knowledgeable—he made sure everyone had fun and stayed engaged the whole time. Whether you’re a complete beginner like we were, or someone with more experience, I can’t recommend his charters enough. I’ll definitely be booking again once my exams are out of the way!

We had such a fun trip with Captain Dale on 24th October, and we had a decent catch of fishes despite opting for a morning session (as we wanted to catch some squid as well).

Captain Dale was really friendly and humorous, and we thoroughly enjoyed our fishing session with him. Time passed by so quickly that we wished it would never end.

We would highly recommend this fishing charter to everyone,  and will definitely rebook with Captain Dale if we are ever in town again. Thanks again for everything!!
