Techniques: Light tackle back bay and coastal jigging and live bait fishing for all inshore species in season including trophy fluke, striped bass, bluefish, weakfish, porgies, and false albacore.

We took advantage of a flat calm ocean to hit some local rock piles and found them loaded with ling. Bait and jigs both produced very well.

Sunset has been the magic hours on the water. Bluefish on the surface. Fluke feeding on the scrapes below the blitz. 4 inch zman diezel minnow on a 1/2 oz jighead was perfect for nonstop action.

Bluefish from 2 to 12 pounds have invaded Jamaica Bay. Striped bass are mixed in as well as the omnipresent sand sharks.

Big and small, we welcome them all! Fishing in the calm, sheltered water of Jamaica Bay for fluke provides steady action for the whole family without long boat rides across choppy water.

Picking up right where we left off at the end of last season. Striped bass have returned. We’ll catch them good through mid June before switching gears to summer flounder (fluke) and bluefish. All good ??
