We had a great time fishing.  We had a choice of using fly rods or spinning rods. Our guide Noel was very cheerful and helpful.  And patient with our numerous line tangles! First time in Cancun. Directions to get to location were spot on. Showed up early, guide took us out early. Mauricio was great with my son and me. We are beginner to intermediate fisherman. We have a little experience lake and river fishing, but little with ocean fishing. Son caught barracuda, jack, and snook. Did an evening trip and brought about ten or so fish into the boat. Would fish with them again.

I booked an early am trip for my brother and I.  The day before the weather didn’t look appealing to us and we were able to move to the following day without any issues.  The next morning was beautiful.  We started fly fishing so Noel took us to an area that was out of the wind. This was my 3rd time booking with this outfitter. No where else in Cancun can you get the experience of light tackle. Trolling tends to bore my family unless the action is super hot and if the sea is at all rough, forget it. Huge advantage of fishing the lagoon besides all of the amazing wildlife is that it’s mostly sheltered from the weather that makes nearshore or offshore fishing intolerable for anyone prone to sea sickness. Took a trip with my 12 year old and was a blast,  Noel was our guide and he made it a fun and relaxing trip.  Knew all the best spots and was very informative.  I would definitely recommend this trip to anyone especially people with kids and those that get sea sick.  You stay a lagoon so the water is generally very calm.
