It was fantastic!  We planed to go offshore, but the weather didn’t cooperate (it was terrible windy and cold). Captain Phil was very flexible and found some fish in the backwater. He and his first mate did everything to let us catch our lunch in this exiting four hours! On top of it all, these guys are super friendly and they really know their stuff.

We booked Captain Phil for a six hour offshore trip. It was a little windy, but not too bad and Capt. Phil offered us the option of staying inshore. We headed out, though and had a blast. He put us on fish almost immediately; it seemed like we pulled in a fish with every cast. He and Tim were super friendly, very professional, and extremely knowledgeable. After catching a bunch of snapper and a nice permit for our supper, we switched to trolling for a barracuda and caught several in the 3.5’ to 4’ range. Once back at the marina, Capt. Phil filleted and bagged our fish for us. I can’t say enough good about our trip and highly recommend Captain Phil Haley, Tim, and Tarpon Tamer Charters.
Note to Tim: you’re right about the permit! Holy cow that thing was tasty!  Thanks for a wonderful guys. I look forward to fishing with you next time I’m down there.

What a fantastic experience!  We had hoped to head offshore, but the weather didn’t cooperate (rough seas).  Instead, Captain Phil was able to put us on the fish in the backwater.  I especially appreciated the fact that he and his first mate went out of their way to make the trip extra special for my 14 year old daughter who was experiencing this type of fishing for the first time.  In four hours, she was able to boat five different species!  On top of it all, these guys are super friendly and they really know their stuff.  I would highly recommend booking your next trip with Tarpon Tamer Fishing Charters; I know I will!

Captain and Mate were very friendly and helpful. They did get us on the fish and we hooked several. Some negatives though as they arrived 35 minutes late to the meeting place and once we got on the water spent over 2 hours fishing for bait while we watched for the most part. They were only able to catch a total of 2 bait fish in that time. They did have crabs for the tarpon and put us where they were at. The first 4 we hooked all snapped lines and capt asked mate if he put the correct pound test line on rods. We did switch to threaded line after that and my father in law was able to get one to the boat but that was all for the 4 of us that weee fishing as they quit hitting shortly after and a storm rolled on ending our trip. Again they were very friendly and we all liked the crew but definitely expected a better experience.
