Had the pleasure to fish with Captain Joel who knew the water like the back of his hand. Figured out quickly that Joel is a pro.  Captain Joel simply has that ‘it’ factor that he understands the bite, the conditions, and does his best to put you on fish & he did.  I imagine theres probably other charters that might be equally knowledgeable about how to fish the bayou, but it would be hard to find a better Captain than Joel.  The man works hard at his craft, and to give you a great experience fishing & seeing the bayou.  I’m an experienced walleye fishermen from Wisconsin that knows a good one when I see one, so trust me when I say that you are fishing with down to earth guys that are fun hanging out with & spending the day fishing with if you choose to charter with Bayou Obsessions. Oh, & Joel checked in with a restaurant in the French quarter in New Orleans near where we stayed that was glad to cook up our catch for us.

I took my two 17 year old grandsons and a very good friend on this trip. There were at least five other boat captains going out this morning. The good part is each went to a different location and once the fish were found they alerted the other boats then it was on. We caught 12 huge redfish and lost 8 others just could not bring them in. Captain Nicks boat was very comfortable. He had all rod /reels etc we needed for the day. Water,cold drinks all iced down for us.When we got back they cleaned and bagged our fish. These are memories my grandkids will never forget. Thank you Captain Nick for a great day on the water!!!

I’ve done a handful of inshore charters around the Southeast and never have I fished with a guide who was capable of adapting to the changing conditions as well as Captain Joel. We fished in mid-March and a recent cold front recked the conditions. Despite this development, Captain Joel put us on some great Reds. When we returned the dock, we saw that other charters were not nearly as successful of us. I also want to note that Captain Joel is a stand up guy and really great guide to chat with. Whether you are group of coworker/friends or a family, Joel will match your energy. I look forward to booking with these guys in the future.
