I contacted Bayou Obsession Charters and the administrative portion was handled by Captain Matt but we had the pleasure of going out with Captain Christian.  He has only been in the game of chartered fishing for 3 years but he was vey knowledgeable about the area and kept us on the fish the entire 6 hours.  This was my son’s first-time fishing and within 5 to 10 minutes, he had him casting like a veteran.  I would highly recommend Bayou Obsession Charters.

Even with less than ideal fishing conditions (full moon the night prior, windy, rising tide), Captain Joel was able to put us on some fish (Speckled Trout). Once the area was fished out, he moved us to another spot until the action quieted down and continued to repeat.  The conditions made it difficult to fish for Red Fish but the conditions were less than favorable so we were unsuccessful. Great charter and Captain Joel had plenty of local fishing knowledge.

Setup a last-minute fishing trip through Bayou Obsession. I was a bit nervous because I usually go out of Venice and didn’t know anyone in the Lafitte area. Matt set us up with Christian who was great with my 6 y/o girl; he really focused on making sure she had a good time which is what I wanted. We had heavy wins but Christian still found some good spots for redfish/black drum. I’ve gone with a lot of guys out of Venice and these guys were great.

We loved our experience with Captain Ryan!  Accomodations were the best!  We started out cool and damp with fog and the fish were slow but the action picked up as the temperature rose into the 70"s.  We moved three or four times and Captain Ryan put us on fish each time.  We caught eight or nine different species of fish and some were firsts for us…Speckled Trout, Drum, Channel Catfish, Sheepshead, Gar, Largemouth Bass, Blue Catfish.  Definitley, a repeat is in order on our next trip to... Fished with Joel.  Great boat captain put us on fish all day. Had a great time with my wife. She caught more fish than me and had a blast as well. Now she’s going to want to go on all my fishing trips. thanks a lot Joel.😐😭😂
