Bring rain gear and waterproof attire and layer up with warm clothing. June can be cold and rainy. Also I would avoid going on a long weekend. There were many boats on the water so it would be a better experience with less boat traffic for sure.

Fun trip, I wouldn’t arrive much early as the run is just getting ramped up mid June. If possible try and time your arrival between tribal and commercial netters. Friendly laid back town.

We are not very experienced to provide advice, but had a great time and enjoyed both the fishing and the landscape greatly.

Fishing sockeye in June would be great for beginners. Lots of action and you get to keep lots of tasty salmon!

Great place to go fishing without having to go long distances in the open ocean.
