What would you recommend to anglers fishing in Denarau Island for the first time?

I brought my fly rod with me. The guys placed me on the sand bank at low tide if you're into flyfishing, it was magic, the kids and wife were swimming, I was flyfishing, caught a yellow tree valley. I had it for dinner awesome

Very hot time of year, so make sure to wear sun cream and stay out of the sun. The jigging and casting is exciting but hard work on such a hot day. The trolling was great but we only got a few hits that got off. The fish we caught, Coronation trout, were the best I’ve tasted.

Look around and pick a charter that best suits what you wish to achieve. I had an awesome time with the lads on SideStep Charters and would recommend you check them out, I would go out with them again for sure.

Message and ask a lot of questions before you book a trip to make sure you get exactly what you are expecting , and don’t be disappointed if you do not catch what you expect , it may cost a lot of money , but it’s fishing and not guarantied, enjoy the experience of fiji

Can be a bit windy so have your sea legs. Be prepared to do the hard work as there is some amazing rewards to be had

Don't book on line it's a pain where you sit, go to the wharf early and check out the boats and verify what is advertised.

Don't come with too high expectations and enjoy the experience whatever the outcome. Remember that your worst day fishing is still better than your best day working.

Travel to the reefs for fishing is under an hour so great place to go fishing from.
