What would you recommend to anglers fishing in Kasilof, Alaska for the first time?

Get a guide first! Most prime locations and gravel bars on river require boat access.. guides know how the river flows.. don’t waste your time at crooked creek campground get an experienced guide..

I highly recommend going on this trip!! We took a small cooler with drinks and snacks and sunscreen! Also the weather went from hot and sunny to drops of rain to warm again, so we were very glad we brought sweatshirts/hoodies and or light rain jacket just in case!! Take lots of pictures and just keep casting!!!

The morning view on the River was a 10/10. The river is cold so layers, warm socks and gloves are key.

Dress warmer then you think and prepare for a little rain always. You can always take layers off but when you are cold its hard to warm up.

Be prepared for cold wet weather. You can always take things off but you can’t put on a layer you didn’t bring.
