What would you recommend to anglers fishing in Muskegon, Michigan for the first time?

Expect a knowledgeable captain able to change strategies to match changing conditions. Muskegon offers fishing for a wide variety of species, plus great restaurants and bars for the post fishing experiwnce

Not a lot biting in August, but if you are looking for the experience of a charter it was great. I loved seeing the commercial boats and there was regattas every Wednesday evening so the sailboats were really neat to see.

Definitely use a charter. Lake Michigan is a lot of water and a professional will get you on some fish.

We caught 2 big bass the day before our charter just fishing from shore. Lots of bass near fishermans landing campground. Not sure how walleye is because we only caught the 1

We simply weren't getting bites despite the fish being there. Barely any fish were caught on the other boats either.

We had a great time in late August and caught 4 Kings. Was told that May and June might have been a better time. In late Aug fish are moving quite a bit and are less predictable.

Bring a sweatshirt because it really cools off when the sun goes down. Use the restroom before you go and plan to relax and have fun.
