What would you recommend to anglers fishing in Troutdale, Oregon for the first time?

Although we did not catch our fish, there were plenty out there. We had two young boys in the boat and they were learning alot. We all three had a blast and now we think we are ready for the fish. Thank You!

Still beginning of season - and fish is not too active but overall is a very nice trip

A bit cold but we caught a break in the weather. Jordan had two heaters that saved the day!

Still a little early for Chinook and Coho on the Sandy and it only gets better over the next month or so.

One absolutely has to book a trip with Barry at least once in their angling adventures. Highly recommended.

It seems July fishing on Sandy River is tough. Water too warm, low, end of salmon run, etc. I recommend doing more research like I plan to do before booking my next one.

Helpful to know river levels and what affects it (dam releases on Columbia, snow melt on Mt Hood, weather, etc.). Know when the fish are running. Go with a guide if you can.

Listen to your guide and if he recommends to delay the trip and if you can do it!
