Fishing is always part skill and part luck. Weather often plays an important role in whether the day is set for success or not. Even then, fishing may be hot or cold. I always approach a fishing day anywhere as this...a bad day fishing always beats a good day at work! Go with lower expectations and enjoy life!

They should understand that fishing is variable and I believe that walleye fishing would be slow for children.
Mr Wingo does have a panfish option which would be great for children

We had always gone to Eagle River but our positive experiences in Minoqua have caused us to move our yearly fishing trips to Minoqua.
The fishing is good and the area is alive and beautiful

Get the right guide like we had. Keep your finger s crossed for good weather. Take lots of pictures.

Enjoy the day! Brody has everything you need (short of drinks/snacks, which may not be necessary for a half day trip)

Karen Zabel
watch weather to be ready with appropriate clothing and trust the guide to take you where you’ll be most successful!!

For more action focus on crappies if you want walleyes, understand that they can be harder to find this time of year. After the spawn but before reliable summer patterns.

The weather is a huge factor for the fish to bite which you cant control. Try to make the most of the experience while you are in the area. Check out local bait shops such as TJs in Lake Tomahawk.

Bring a rain outfit because fishing in the rain is no fun without rain gear. Dave had an extra outfit for me, so I was dry and warm. If it is sunny bring sunscreen!

Get a guide to show you the lake and transfer knowledge early in the trip. Use what they recommend regarding bait, tackle, and technique.

Go for the fish that are in "season." Water temps make a big difference for game fish. Do your research before you book your trip.

We fish the weed beds on the north side of the lake and the drop offs, depending on what we are fishing for. Lots of pike, landed a 36", in 2015.
