Fresh Barracudaville Charters Fishing Reports
Tampa Bay water temps hits 90 degrees In
June 19, 2025
As the summer heats up the fish seek cooler Waters whether it's deeper offshore waters that can be several degrees cooler or early morning in the bay. The fish are not much different than us they prefer Temps that are comfortable. We can have fish year round but a general statement is you need to find the cooler water temps and moving water to have the best bite! As a general statement deeper is better! If at all possible avoid fishing midday inside Tampa Bay. June's line August early mornings or best or late evenings tides are also a factor of course. Water's past 75 / 80 ft will definitely be cooler than our Nearshore waters that you can reach on a half day... As always the best time to fish is when you can...Talk to your captain and plan your trips accordingly! One Barracudaville advantage is we have T-top AND a Bimini so you'll have three quarters of the boat in shade! Tight lines! Captain Mark Maloney Barracudaville Charters

Deeper is better in the summer months...
May 25, 2024
Many of our Gulf and Bay species are seeking comfortable water temperatures in the heat of the summer. Mid May, June, July, August and even early September in Tampa Bay will hit 90 plus degrees! Not comfortable for us or the fish. Barracudaville Boats provides full cover from our relentless Summer Sun. A Bimini and a t-top to provide extra shade for our clients comfort during those hot summer months. Many of our fish head West to go deeper to find the cooler temps they desire... What that means for us as a general statement is deeper fishing is better here during the summer. There are still fish to be caught in close ( inside 20 miles) we have a few species that like the warmer water barracuda sharks, mangrove snapper will be found closer as well as some Spanish mackerel and Bonita... Warm temps can sometimes mean a lethargic bite... Moving water and a fresh lively bait can do the trick but as a general rule the hotter it gets the deeper waters are more productive. If you're fishing in the bay and early morning bite typically is going to be better than a p.m. bite. Offshore the further out you go the cooler the water temperature the surface temp may still be high greater depths are generally cooler holding some of your larger bottom fish... In the summer fish early or deep and stay cool on BarracudaVille Charters! Captain Mark Maloney Barracudaville Charters

Hot fishing is deep this summer
June 7, 2023
As the water heats up the fish continue move deeper offshore! In our warmer summer months June, July, August even September the biggest fish and best bite is past 30 mi. Barracuda sharks small grunts can be found inside 20 mi with an occasional permit on some wrecks. As a general unwritten rule for summertime fishing the more productive trips are deep! Get in our bean bag chair and enjoy the comfortable ride into the deep blue offshore! For those interested in red snapper red grouper and some bigger mangoes the only place they're being caught in our gulf waters is in 120 ft plus which is 40 mi. The tarpon bite has been fair to good depending on the tide Best bite has been an late outgoing tide around the full moon but there are some tarpon being hooked along the beaches in the morning as well. Tight lines! Captain Mark Maloney Barracudaville Charters
