While our small town has had a rough 13 months taking 3 hurricane hits we are fishing and the bite has been great! Reports from my fellow marina mates at Steinhatchee Marina at Deadman's Bay have been loaded with trout and reds as the fish are schooling up with the cooler temperatures. Yes many restaurants are still closed or wiped out but, some are open and could use the business. If you need a place to stay you may have to look in nearby towns. WE ARE OPEN FOR FISHING. Added bonus fishing pressure is very low.

Like a broken record… weed through 100 catfish to get to the good stuff.

This trip started hard. We fished and hunted for something other than catfish for about 2 hrs. I moved us in super skinny and drifted pinfish across the grass. That's where we finally busted a solid slot red. We then got into a trout bite. We must have caught 15 all between 12 and 13 inches. We had some fun with a big school of jacks as well. Finally the tide got right and I moved us to deeper water and finally got 5 nice trout and some sea bass. Young Rocky had some sharks make his day. They're always fun for a big fight. Had this been a half day trip the story would be different.

Scalloping is still going strong after Debby.Now is a great time to go as they crowds are thinning out especially during the week with the kids back in school. Saturday the visibility wasn't the best but, the scallops were big and got our limit.Season ends Labor Day

After debby came through and put things on hols few days the red bite is active in the area. For kicks and giggles monster sting rays are everywhere and a fun fight.

A break from scallop season fishing trip. 3 trout over 19 inches, a bag of sea bass, and a good flounder. Great day with fun clients. Kimberly tore the trout up. We had to weed through 100 catfish and some sharks that provided a fun hard fight but, at the end of the trip a strong result for summer fishing.
