1/2 day tarpon action in February
February 17, 2025
Weve had plenty of tarpon around early this season with the warm weather. Got out a few days ago with a group and had several in the canals of local Islamorada. Great option on a half day the next few months. Also the evening window is not a bad time to target them and in the busy spring break time i often have availability then. Shoot me a DM if you are interested in booking im happy to answer any questions!

Mid February all kind of backcountry act
February 16, 2025
Its starting to get busy as we roll into Spring. The warm weather has been nice and has yielded some good fishing opportunities. Last week we had a couple trips with clients and some of my friends. One day we tarpon fished and were rewarded with not only tarpon but cobia too! We also had a fun day patch reef fishing with our limit of snappers as well as mutton snapper, hogfish, and more. A few resident snook around too. Tarpon will be the main target of choice the next few months and with the warm early spring, i imagine well continue to have good early season fishing the next couple months. Lets get out there book your trip today!

January Tarpon wish granted!
January 29, 2025
Had Garrett down fishing with me he had called directly and had hopes of catching a tarpon. It was his shot to do it visiting from Minnesota. January typically isn't great overall for tarpon because of the colder weather we often get. But we were on a warming trend and those fish can seemingly show up overnight when conditions get right. That usually means water temperatures in the mid 70s or so. It wasn't quite there yet but it was still a calm sunny afternoon. We fished for a bit and didn't see a whole lot early nor had a ton of action. But eventually we were in the right spot when hundreds of tarpon starting pouring through! We were just about to leave too and we gave it some more time and sure enough we hooked into a beast! We got a lot of good jumps and fight out of her and were lucky enough to get the fish boatside for a good picture. Right now the forecast doesn't have any more cold in the foreseeable future (the next 7 days or so) so tarpon are a definite possibility. This was also on a half day trip close to home so it doesn't necessarily even take a full day. Of course this can all change if more cold comes and that is definitely possible in February but you can always ask me first if I think it's feasible.

Awesome winter time fishing in Islamorad
January 2, 2025
Been busy since xmas doing a lot of half day trips. Its cooled off a bit but not terribly cold and overall nice weather aside from some rain last weekend. Weve been getting into some good juvenile tarpon lately around many islands and mangrove area basins. These guys dont mind the cooler temps as much as the big boys. Also good snapper fishing close by and you get some nice size fish when we get the live bait. Groupers as well the goliaths have been abundant. January is slowly filling up looks like itll be fairly busy. Drop me a line if you want to get out there! Afternoon half days arent a bad option this time of year either since its cooler.

1/2 day snook and drum action!
November 29, 2024
Got out on a short notice half day trip over thanksgiving week! We made it happen with a couple of young 14 year old anglers. Snook was on the to-do list and we caught some on our live pilchards fishing the local jetties. Also got into a few redfish. The other day we had a good size black drum in the backcountry too. Winter time is here and with the cooler water temps there are plenty of interesting opportunities!
