Huge tarpon today! Also got another good one as well as a permit. Fishing had been good this April and super busy. Ive got dome evenings available though for anyone looking to chase trophy tarpon like this!

Been super busy so haven't had a chance to update as much lately. But fishing has been really good this April! Tarpon is often the thing to do and we've been catching them on day trips as well as evening trips lately. The evening is a nice time to get out there from 4pm to 8pm, and the bite often turns on near sunset. The large migrators are definitely around now and should be through May into June. When I haven't been tarpon fishing we've had some good snook fishing lately which has been fun. A lot less pressure on the snook fishery right now as so many people are tarpon fishing so that's nice. We've had some big mangroves in many of our snook spots as well so if you are looking for tablefare that is always do-able. I'm pretty booked up for most of the days right now but I've got lots of evenings available. If you want to get out there let's get something booked!

Well fishing has been really good and we've been super busy! Getting out twice a day now isn't uncommon and as we get more into spring, tarpon fishing is heating up! The evening trip (4pm to 8pm) is a great window to come target the silver king... and as it gets closer to sunset the bite often turns on. We had great fishing on this day catching 5 tarpon both big and small. As mentioned in the picture we only pick up small tarpon (under 40 inches) for pictures as it's illegal to remove the larger ones from the water. The patch reefs still have some life on them and we have some snappers, mackerels, and yellow jacks here we caught for dinner. If you are wanting to get out give me a shout!

Got out in the backcountry for a full day trip in Islamorada. We fished within the everglades boundaries around some bay islands and caught a couple juvenile tarpon and snook! Great fish and great fights on light tackle. They all ate live pilchards which we were able to catch with our cast nets. I always like to take some time to catch live bait... sometimes it take a little time to get but it's well worth it for quality fish. But it's never a guarantee to get them but as your guide I often feel it's worth it to take time to look for them. Later on we got our limit of mangrove snappers. The snapper bite has been pretty steady and again with the pilchards we were able to catch good size ones. Finally the goliath groupers bit well around the bridges. They are a great fight on light tackle and tough to get out of the bridge sometimes, but well worth it if you want to catch something that pulls! It's busy right now with spring break but I have several evening trips available from 4PM to 8PM. If you want to try and catch a tarpon... that is the time to go. The bite often gets better as it gets near sunset. I also often have trips available more short notice so you can somewhat cherry pick the weather. Give me a shout let's get out fishing!

We had some awesome fishing today despite some tough conditions! A late cold front came in and often times that can hamper the bite especially in the shallow water which we often are fishing. Tarpon in particular are usually not fans of it getting cold. Though today we really just got the north wind but the water temperatures didn't fluctuate much they stayed in the high 70 degree range. That proved to be good for us! We had a little bit of a slow morning but mid day we found a couple big schools of tarpon in some local spots and had great fishing. We ended up catching 5 of them it was really an unbelievable day! Just goes to show you, you don't always know if it's going to be good or bad with the fishing you just gotta try sometimes. Weather looks like it's getting better starting tomorrow it's back to light/moderate easterly winds for a while so that should mean the tarpon bite will stay hot! Come on down let's go fishing, if you want to get out an evening 4pm to 8pm trip is a great option and I have availability shorter notice often too so you can somewhat cherry pick the weather with a few days notice.

Great half day trip this afternoon. We caught some nice live bait right by the marina and got on a good mangrove snapper bite. Got our limit including a big 21 incher! They dont get much bigger than that ladies and gentlemen. Fishing is good spring is here and the weather is beautiful. Lets go fishing!
