It was a really special experience taking 5 & 9 year old brothers Corey & Archie from the Isle of Man for their first joint Offshore fishing adventure. The boys did fantastic, were patient, learned a lot about the Ocean & caught fish non stop all day. It was clear they really enjoyed their time at Sea with their mum & dad. Corey caught his biggest ever Sailfish, a huge female that we tagged for Gray FishTag Research Archie caught his first ever Dorado & ended up catching 3 for good measure. I lost count of how many 9 year old Corey caught but let’s just say he got some good practice at honing in his angling skills. Catch Report 1 Sailfish 15 Dorado A quick dip in the pool & we had the kids on a jungle night tour that evening looking for snakes & creepy crawly’s….what a day!! ????

Day 2 in the books yesterday with Paul, Russell. Dean & Simon from the Isle of Man. We had some great action with Dorados in the morning on several logs/bit of floating debris. Catching plenty on spinning Rods & a few on stick baits, including double & triple hookups. We missed a Sailfish & caught some Tripletail also. Catch Report - day 2 11 Dorados 0 for 1 Sailfish 4 Tripletail 3 Sharks Then during day 3 today aboard the 31’ Centre Console THE BITE the guys caught a Stunning Roosterfish plus Snowy Grouper, Yellowtail Snapper & some other bottom species on bait & jigs. Back out there tomorrow for day 4 and let’s see what Inshore has in store. ??

We just finished day 4 today with the lads from the Isle of Man. Today we opted for an Inshore day & fished the rivermouths, rocks & islands 30 miles south of Quepos. We caught plenty of bait and tried for Snook at a couple of river mouths on both the incoming & outgoing tides but no luck on that front unfortunately. We enjoyed some nice species variety in the morning but the bite then slowed up & it proved to be a slow afternoon. Simon was delighted to catch a stunning Roosterfish which proved to be the fish of the day and he missed/lost a couple more. Russell had some good opportunities on the Popper & including a near miss on a nice sized Rooster. Catch Report: 1 Roosterfish 2 Snappers 1 Jack 1 Big eye/horse eye Jack 1 Shark 1 Catfish Heading back out there for an Offshore trip tomorrow for the guys 5th & final day, wish us luck! ??

Another fantastic day on the water aboard GOOD DAY yesterday, with Allen & Kristy from New York joining us. The guys had just fished 4 days aboard Muy Caliente & enjoyed some top quality fishing with 110 fish caught over 4 days, Sailfish, Dorados & Tuna. A Marlin had eluded Allen this week so we set out to search for that & managed to hook a nice sized Striped Marlin which put up a great fight on light tackle. After checking a Sailfish & Striped Marlin off the list we searched for a Blue for the final day part of the day but no luck on securing the Grand Slam unfortunately. Catch Report: 1 Striped Marlin 1 for 3 Sailfish 7 Dorados Back out there tomorrow with the lads from the Isle of Man/UK who we’ve got for 5 days this week ??

Great to have Eric, Nancy, Paul & Mitchell from NY state join us aboard Good Day today. It proved to be a tough old day out there with a steady wind & sloppy sea. Thankfully Paul caught his first ever Sailfish, taping out to 8.5 feet tip to tip and which we tagged for the Gray FishTag Research program. We missed another Sail and a small Dorado and then Mitchell fought a nice sized Dorado right to the boat where it threw the hook in the last second. You can’t win ‘em all but everyone enjoyed the day on the water & we’ll be back out there tomorrow ! ??
