Going out a full day offshore in waves and sunshine is quite tough for smaller kids. I recommend leaving small kids at home, our just go for a half day trip with them.

Wired Sportfishing
The billfish can be spotty (peak sailfish and marlin season is Jan-April) but there is plenty of opportunity for other fish, like tuna. A 3/4 or full day trip will give a better chance of catching fish given different species are found at different distances from shore.

If you dont know Spanish request a captain w good english. Otherwise it can be a long quiet day.
Ask in advance how you need to pay-cash or card. tip in cash so make sure you have enough.
not all boats have a toilet. Ask.
ask if boat has live bait or if you need to catch it. saves time if boat already has bait.
small boats dont have a lot of shade. bring lots of sunscreen and at least long sleeve shirts.
4 hr trip ok for younger kids. 6 hrs too long.
