Fresh Captain Tim's Chincoteague Bay Adventures Fishing Reports
Beating the Heat!
June 29, 2018
Summer has finally made it. Sharks are moving in as the flounder move out. Hopefully the settling weather will allow the water to clear and creat some good color edges out the inlet. Croakers are moving through in small runs, creating catch-em-up moments. Short rule is find clean water, find fish. Aloha

The Beauty of Release!
June 24, 2018
Shark fishing is exciting, demanding, challenging and yes, sometimes even boring. But the excitement of touching and holding a living work of nature can leave you changed. Even better is the feeling of satisfaction at seeing your catch swim off to live it's life out, maybe with a tag in it. I encourage catch and release, for the future of the sport and peace of my soul. Aloha

Weather finally straightening out. Sharks moving in and picking up pace. Nice sized hammerhead tagged Saturday. Flounder still strong but bring your bug spray.

Shark begun, flounder still strong!
June 6, 2018
Great day in sketchy conditions. Morning trip featured 2 sharks and nice mess of whiting. Afternoon trip surprisingly good flounder fishing in blustery northeast wind. Condition to settle and improve in coming week. Remember, when you book with Chincoteague Bay Adventures through Fishingbooker, you're booking the entire boat, not just a seat on a crowded boat of strangers. See you out there! Aloha

Large flounder resurgence!
May 26, 2018
Just as I was about to pull the plug on flounder season, we get a push of large fish just in time for Memorial Day. Despite challenging conditions and too much fresh water the bite picks back up. Still waiting for swell to settle at inlet to begin shark tagging. Aloha

Sharking time draws near!
May 12, 2018
Flounder season continues to improve with the warmer weather, although the average size is starting to trend downwards as the harvest takes it's toll. Best fish to date was a 25 inch 4lb. 13oz. dinosaur that was released after taking 5th place in the Capt. Steve's Tackle Shop Chincoteague Flounder Tournament. Looking forward, we had our first shark release yesterday while flounder fishing. The timing is right to declare shark season open June 1st. Our emphasis is on Tag and Release shark fishing, as we seek ways to preserve a diminishing segment of the ecosystem. By self- regulating we can avoid drastic state and federal measures such as moratoriums. Book your "Shark Hunters" trip now for June 1- Sept. 15. Aloha...
